If you want to purchase a new username for your account that is being using by another person, the best way to guarantee that people won't scam you is ask them to give you the account and then, you change the username whenever you want.

Why?

Because they can lie you and once you made the payment they don't release the username or, there is a chance that, once they release while you are making the payment, someone comes and registers it.

yes I get that, but my question was how do we release the username to our own, as per your own suggestion there.

maybe it's not clear, what i am getting is that, for example I want cat username, and it is in your database, and you're selling it and I am buying it.

you send the username and I guess the followers are random, and posts are probably not come with it. so I want to claim this cat username to my own account where it has already posts and followers for cat.

so how do I release the username from your account to mine? can I just change cat to cat2 from your account, and as soon as it is saved, I can then immediately claim cat username to my account?
