Hello Guys ,

I have a medical blog , i have like 350 unique articles (Non spun) , I used to receive like 2000 unique visitors per day from organic traffic , but
after penguin update i have been dropped to 400-500 !!!! which is a very big loss !
i usually do manual backlinking and i never recieved any messages from google indicating that i have some spam links in my strategy,
I really don't know why i have been affected by the penguin update and i really don't know how to relieve that !

Could someone tell me why I have been affected by this update ?

Best wishes for all

Welcome to penguins from hell, I'm affected too and don't know the exact reasons.

Take a look here to see what was changed: http://insidesearch.blogspot.ro/2012/06/search-quality-highlights-39-changes.html

Thanks a lot thetraveller . I don't know what is the hell with this penguin , the problem that i only do white hat strategies ...
but i have been massively affected :(

Well, if you can build a link to your website easily, then Google can consider it is as artificial and spammy .. so even if you have built some of your links manually, they may be falling in the spam category defined by Google. Some such links are the profile links, blog comments ...

You have to check various threads on this topic and decided for yourself which of your links could be consider spammy by Google .. then take the next step - remove all those bad backlinks to your website .. Add some social SEO signals to your site .. wait and hope for the better.

Over-optimization might be the cause, but you know what keywords you've used and how many times each.

Thanks a lot guys , very appreciated for these hints

I think the number of anchor text working directly to your money site was a major fact.
another thing was not maintaining the link diversity. Are you sure that you have maintained these things?

There was a Panda data refresh on 19th April, 2012. You also need to check if your website was penalised by the very latest ?Over optimization? penalty or the even latest ?Penguin update?. http://searchengineland.com/the-penguin-update-googles-webspam-algorithm-gets-official-name-119623
Here?s Matt Cutts helping you with other possible reasons:http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=gx04qNrCbnk
Techniques to follow now?Avoid indulgence in keyword stuffing, link spamming & linking the same anchor text to multiple sources. Include unique, informative content in your website and make the most of social media interactions.
