Penguin: Anyone else feel like givng up?

I have a websites that grew naturally and now have been downgraded. It made me come here to learn more SEO techniques and to move forward.

There are days my head hurts trying to learn so much but if it wasn't for goog changes, I wouldn't have got the kick in the butt I need to make things better.

I do feel like giving up sometimes (a lot) but desperation and stubbornness wont let goog beat me down. Not happeng!

I'm sure many blackhatters are waiting anxiously for the next Penguin Update, that's good. But we are not giving enough importance to the disavow-this-link tool, it will be a game changer. Imagine being able to bring back to life your sites and CTRL + Z any bad seo campaign, if it works like this, it will be great.

Bing webmaster tools already has one. Surprising that not much has been discussed on using that tool and if it has affected rankings in any way. But maybe it could be cause Bing is a lot more modest in their algo updates.

a week a go i got almost $20/day and some keyword was in page 1 but after the update of panda, my site just worth about $2/day and my site was vanish from the 100 SERP.....lol....but i dont give up yet....It's just the beginning of the 'match'

I was not giving up just until today!!!

After weeks of deleting and cleaning my link profile for one of my top sites, the fruits of labor is slowly coming. The site is coming back at the rankings slowly. But just like that, BAM!!!! Google ban my site from serving ADSENSE. My account is still good but they just banned by site today saying that i dont have a good linking structure within my site. I have all good and unique articles as well as infos that the visitor needs. But they banned my F*in site in serving adsense.

So whats the use?? Only adsense generates the biggest income for that site. I have tried several affiliates, amazon, and other ads but only adsense is by far the one that generates the most money.

That's the ticket.
First thing would be to ADD MORE CONTENT TO YOUR SITE

No - i know that's nothing to do with offsite over op and lack of diversity - but it does give you some clean unsullied URL's to send good quality, diverse links to.
A good analogy for SEO is archery

- The target is your website
- The visitors are the arrows
- The bullseye is a visitor that results in taking the action required to make you money/conversion etc.

The bigger the target - the more often it will get hit - and the more bullseyes you'll get.

- Sensible link building decreases distance and brings you closer to the target.
- Adding content to you site increases size of target

And in most niches there are almost unlimited arrows.

Internal linking structure is easily fixed.

  • Check blogrolls (get rid of them - even internal ones)
  • Link your content internally (keyword links within your articles to pertinant pages/posts also within your site)
  • If its a blog, make sure Google are NOT indexing tag and category pages unless you have a VERY good reason for them to do so
  • Don't have all your internal links pointing to an obvious landing page. That says you're site is just about "buy this" and not about "adding value"
  • Make sure you're not linking to "bad sites" Google has some funny ideas about what's bad. I had a link to "prcheck.com" that got my adsense banned a few years back. Why? No idea, but after a few days of emailing they finally told me whatit was - and I removed it.
  • Have "privacy policy" and "about" links clearly accessible on (more or less) every page
  • Again, if you have a blog, check the footer and make sure the author hasn't linked to somewhere spammy or innapropriate. Edit the theme and delte it if they have (footer.php in wordpress)

That's most of the stuff they don't like. Looks like a lot, but normally can get a moderate sized site sorted out in an afternoon if you're methodical.

Scritty

[EDIT]

FINALLY - Monetize in a different way if possible. Adsense and Google are not business partners - they are psychotic children with tourettes who will be abusive and take "their ball home" if you don't do exactly what they want...and they make a point of NEVER telling you openly exactly what they want....

Great content will get you no where unless others hear about it and then share it. Content alone is just words and I think its a weak gameplan on it's own right.
Great content plus PROMOTION of said content to get traction is the only way that content is going to do anything until your site becomes an authority.
Get a sharing gameplan together so others will share your content (assuming it's share worthy) and promote on applicable social networks et al. And of course, links.

That's the ticket.

Actually, venturing on one of my biggest projects to date. Penguin just kind of outlined the process of what I need to be doing now and in the future, these updates to me are like reminders.

For those of you who are looking forward to the next Penguin update in the hope that it might sort things out a bit, rather be afraid... Apparently Matt Cutts made an announcement yesterday at SES San Francisco in his keynote address that the next Penguin update will have an even more noticeable impact than the previous ones. He apparently said "you don?t want the next Penguin update." He warned that the Google "engineers have been working hard," on this update. He even added the next few updates will be "jarring and jolting" for webmasters and SEOs.

You can read more on this on the SERoundtable blog

Sigh sigh sigh...

Never give up, never surrender!

It will be a minute hiccup in the long run.
