All over the place, it seems like that is what the update has done.
Google confirmed they had finished the update on the 13th I believe.

I'm still maintaining #1 (knock on wood) ever since scaling my exact match anchors back. I highly suggest others do the same.

but I don't use exact match anchors for a long time. Most are partial keywords or brands/generic kws.

Then either your links are shit, the content where your links are placed is shit, or your site is shit. Google looks a lot at the metrics of your site now. How long are people staying on the site? Whats your CTR and bounce rate? You can't fake content. It has to be engaging, and people have to actually show that they like your site by engaging with the site and clicking through. If your content is shit, no amount of links will help. Period.

Had a site see a nice lift. Was fluctuating high and low from about 9/12 to 9/20, then stabilized to a nice level. Then fell back to previous low traffic levels on 10/12. "Google is always testing and tweaking".
We had a couple really nice links come in around the roll out of 4.0, but the frequency was not consistent (my hunch as to why traffic increase didn't stay steady).

Serplab is a nice free option.
Since Penguin is now in their core algorithm and realtime update so it's gonna be up and down all day... Some of my keywords jump between page 1 and 4 during hours of the day....

Hey guys - do you see it on local keywords or general keywords. I stopped seeing it on general/country keywords but still a lot of up/downs on pages I don't even build links to. These are local keywords... I feel that something is still going on with local keywords.
