Penalty :(

Hey

So I have a website that has about 300 pages all indexed.

It's a well optimized site.

The home page ranks for 3 keywords, 2 are 20k traffic and one is 120k traffic

It has about 50 other pages ranking very well for their keywords.

About a year ago, I created a new page on the site.

I thew some unique content, few links up and left it until three months ago.

It's ranking on the second page of Google and has been for the whole three months. Nothing I can do moves this page up or down at all.

The pages above it on Google have as little as 1 low quality link pointing to them, my page has about 2000 and the entire domain has about 500,000.

So I'm pretty certain there is something going on because honestly 2000 links on an old domain should be beating newer domains with 1 link.

The domain itself is 7 years old and PR5.

On page wise, the page is well SEOed it's not got an over the top amount of keywords and is just a well optimized regular looking website.

Google webmasters shows nothing, other than 200 unique domains link to the page.

Links done include
forum profiles(2000)
blog posts(2000(RELATED, Non auto approved))
About 20 article submissions
300 2.0 bookmarks
2.0 sites with articles all with mass comments to them with relative content(link pointing back).
Theres also 10 or so link exchanges.

Where should I go with this? I'm tempted to 301 it to another location on the same domain and hope that helps? opinions? anyone done that before?

Any ideas welcome.

Karma striked faster than I expected.

For those who don't know, this is the guy whom blasted his competitor with porn anchor links hoping to sabotage their rankings. The thread got deleted. But if you were to search all his posts, he is always asking about getting rid of competitors.

I found this thread by searching his user name, I was appalled to read the thread he created on "Destroying Your Competitors"

We are in BHW however "Glass" and those that agree with him, it is wrong to sabotage your competitors.

What happened to "Competition" is it no longer relevant? Many strive to be the best and for your hard work to be tampered by some ASS like "Glass" is cumbersome and immature.

This is getting long and I am wasting precious time, cheers to those that further EDUCATE themselves to master the art of SEO.

Those that feel defeat get desperate and act in malicious ways and will even harm others. "Glass" your lack of knowledge will be your defeat.

Im going to take my knowledge and wipe it all over the front page of your niche if haven't already.

Wow see this is why I do not spend much time here. This place is full of whiny bitches that figured out War forum was a cesspool of incompetence and wanted real answers.

"Hey lets be a little edgy and go check out a blackhat forum".

So now a BH forum is full of whiny incompetent bitches complaining about morals on a forum about blackhat seo. Anyone that had 1/2 a clue about real seo would know glass23's experiment will prove to eventually help his competition after the google bounce (or dance if you prefer that term). UNLESS, and that is a big unless, some major changed happened in the latest run of "panda" updates. His experiment is the only reason I re-signed up for this forum. Believe me with all this soap-opra drama, I am regretting this decision right now.

This site is called BLACK HAT WORLD, not SEOmoz butt extensions. You want moral high ground seo talk....your in the wrong place. This place should be about what works at all costs.

Anyways my bet is that your experiment proves what results were proven prior to panda, upward or no change.

Now as far as this thread goes, have you considered the possibility that your competitor has more BL's then show up. Like those redirected via a domain that was 301'd to it? Maybe you have since you are suggesting doing it yourself.

When I joined this forum, I did have some hopes.

But I'm sorry to say it appears to just be very amateur, inexperienced bunch of white hat, never ranked a site babies.

I'm not just saying that based on my competition thread, but really no one here even knows about penalty's? or the effect blasting competition actually has? the simple truth is, your all just very amateur.

Do you have proper on-page optimization? Like keywords in Title tag and URL?

Check the anchor text of your backlinks. Too many unnatural anchor texts usually puts some penalty on you page. This happened to us.
