How to discover if my site has a penalization?

I try to search a little phrase of my site on google and it is not in the first results, sometime between third or fourth page.

Does this mean my site has a penalization?

A week before if I try to find on google a little phrase of my site it was always on the first results.

    Hi Tropicalista,

This could be for many reasons, it would be hard to diagnose the real issue without having further information.

But if you have the tools to hand, I would check your backlinks to start with - is there anything unrelated, spammy or unusual?

then check your content, is it unique? or did you copy it etc

Otherways to find out if you have done something wrong, would be to read googles guidelines, have you done anything they say you shouldn't if you want to be ranked?

    hope this helps

No, I highly doubt that means you have been penalization. I would suggest that if you had been penalization you would no longer be found on Google at all. You just need to rank up more in order to grab the front page spots.

there are different types of penaulties than just the extreme, Google can drop your keywords if you have a dodgy backlink, but its not severe enough to take you of google completely, just undo what you did, maybe a little bit of backlinking and in time once your previous links have been crawled again your ranking should return.
