Hi. I just signed up with Peerfly and got accepted. I asked a friend to test out an offer that said that it "converts on first page e-mail submit", which he did for me. However, an hour later I still do not see any conversions in the Peerfly dashboard, although I see the click.

Tried another offer - conversion on 2nd page submit. Nothing again.

Been 2 hours and the earnings are not showing, which I can't understand, as in the detailed description of both of the offers it says that the conversion is recorded and can be seen instantly. Am I doing something wrong?

P.S. Sorry, I sound n00bish, but this is my first experience with Peerfly.

Huh. I knew about shaving, but to do this with the first two conversions the account has ever had? That's plain stupid, as publishers usually check all this stuff during implementation of a campaign. Anyway, I've contacted them and waiting for their response.

Its common for affiliates to put in test leads... Just tell your AM you are doing this and put the email id as [email protected] or something.. they are cool with it. Its not the network that scrubs/shaves mostly its the merchants so the networks are cool. Just let them know thats all..

Every network does this, for emails submits the scrubbing rate can go up to 80 or 90%.
 
Welcome to CPA...shaving is really common when it comes to dealing with email/zip submits. A little hint for you: try to work with the newest email/zip submits available - usually the advertiser starts shaving only a couple (few) days after the offer is live. Good luck.
 
Wow. I'm glad you made this thread. I would've never thought of this. I've heard of the term shaving but never really paid close attention. Sucks knowing that I'm already struggling a bit (I think) and that people may have been through my ads already but I haven't seen anything. I did the same thing with CPA lead and peerfly and didn't see anything in my dashboards. Just thought I didn't go through all the way, but I got shaved o.o

becareful peerfly is real strict and have a great tracking and fraud prevention system.
 
Referrer may be the problem. How did you give the link to your friend?

Peerfly is a great network..
I send them 100% blanked referrals and never have any issues with payment.
Even tho i received my first blacklist ever from a email submit on peerfly. The advertiser did not like the blanked referrals, but they still payed me the full earnings.

If your looking to use full BH traffic, I would advise you to not use peerfly, as crystalmedia has stated above, they will find out.

About your friends test not counting as a conversion, this does not mean it was Peerfly "shaving" your leads, It could be that your buddies on a proxy, or has cookies disabled. Also, its not always the network that "shaves" conversions, it's the advertisers as well. Everyone seems to think its the networks doing the shaving.. this is not always true.

Anyways, Peerfly is legit & they are a well known network.
 
Don't completely assume they've been shaved, I have heard of people doing this and not getting confirmation in their account until half a day later or so. Not often, but I've heard of this from one or two people before.

How about azoogleads? Been hearing alot of complaint about them not paying.. is that true?

Sorry for sounding extremely n00bish, but I'm still new to the whole CPA thing, and trying to learn as much as possible before starting. What do you consider blackhat traffic? Would traffic coming from Facebook groups be considered blackhat (ex. complete 1 survey and get 100 points in farmville type of groups)?
 
it depends if the advertisers accepts incentives traffic or not. doesn't really sound like blackhat
 
i believe it's just a shaving for test your leads...
just send the leads continually everyday and if your leads is coming from good traffic, then the shaving rate will decrease too....

i get the same exprience when joining cpapath.com, so just dont worry, i think all of the cpa do that too...
