I need some advice from people who know PC hardware related stuff.

I an thinking about upgrading RAM in one of my PC.

My MB supports ddr4 2400 Mhz, 2666Mhz.

My question is if I use a ddr4 ram with higher frequency like 3200Mhz or 3600Mhz will it work?

Has anyone tried that?
I have read online that it will work and MB will only use the lower frequency.

I am asking because the price difference is almost 50% between the 2 versions.

Yes, as the dude above me said, it will be capped to the maximum Mhz your MB can handle

Can change the speed in the BIOS on launch I'm pretty sure.
Even if MB speciation limits it to certain frequency?
My MB here is Gigabyte b360m gaming hd

Given than the memory will be hindered you can overclock ram and it won't suffer too much because it will be already underclocked to your MoBo specs
