Most of the "big" seo gurus out there say stay away from private blog networks (PBN's). Others say it is the thing to do, regardless of the Google slap.

What's your authoritative conclusion?

Find some sites with real traffic to guest post too and consider SAPE on the guest blog. Do this direct to your site or a crappy Web 2.0 and you will get your arse blasted.

Using PBNs means there is no real traffic on this sites. How long till G figures this one out ?

I understand but people say PBN will be good for the site but some say google will penalize the site.

Done correctly it will go well with your site. Do you have a trusted seller ? Is it your own one ? Or are you hiring some guy on Fiver ?

Yes, i understand, i am building my system so i want to collect ideas. Thanks for your advice

It depends how much risk are you willing to take?

I have seen sites getting from 100th position to page 1 or 2 in just 1-2 months and all because of PBN they made and some diversity.

They still rank on page 1.

So if you have enough knowledge about PBNs then they can work really well for you.

If you dont know how to use them, it can backfire.

So do your research properly before making/buying these links.

Else Go Whitehat, indulge in Guest posting and outreaching links.

Google Charles floate, his link building guide is awesome.

Even I was contacted for using PBN.....I would also like to clear the same doubt....Good to see some nice reply...

Big "gurus", or guru retards are more likely using PBNs as well.

I've seen one post about neil patel asking for links in a private fb group.

And many people say about Rand Fishking that he became famous thanks to his blackhat links practice.

Back to your question.

Are you planning to use your website for churn and burn purposes?
Then don't worry much about what PBNs you get (Or worry in the sense of getting ranked.).

Do you intend to use blackhat SEO to rank your website, but to extend the lifespan as high as possible?
Then use well made PBNs service. Leith, Finn came in my mind but there are many more.

Whitehat seo? Please don't make me laugh. That is Warrior Forum at its peak. That's not including the products they will throw in your throat.

No matter what you do you're going to cover tracks up to a certain degree.
Google may still find your website, but may is different from it will.

As long as you don't get reported, you'll be fine.

As the saying goes - everything in moderation. I think the same applies to SEO. You can use PBNs but mix them with other link sources as well - for diversity as well as for some safety.

Also, keep in mind that there are lots of different types of PBNs - if you are buying PBN links from sellers then you have to appreciate there is additional risk when compared to building them yourself (Which also comes with its own risks).

PBNs are a yes, but like everything you need quality over quantity.

PBN is good when P stands for private, when you build your own PBN. If you buy PBN links those are basically Public links, not private.

For Google to do that, they would have to be shortsighted, since Google knows they don't control all traffic sources, like Bing, Yahoo, Yandex, Social Media(besides G+) and unless the site is using Google analytics, they wouldn't know the traffic. Sure, they could snub their nose at all the other sources and do their own thing, but that would be cutting off their nose to spite their face.

Besides, if you build your PBN right, you can be getting a little organic traffic, and maybe a little social. Make that part of your plan, and you'll NEVER worry.
