PBNs traffic question

Hi guys,
I've been ranking a few websites lately, considering them as a long term investment, I used mostly white hat techniques. Having now quite a few others to rank, I'm looking into using some PBNs to speed up and scale the things.

I bought some PBNs links in the past and looked at quite a few samples too, they all have low traffic or even 0. Is this common for PBNs or is it just that the Pbns websites I've look into were of poor quality? What is your experience with this?

The point of PBN sites is not to bring you direct referral traffic, but rather for Google to find that you have links from those sites and count them as votes to rank you higher. Sure, some PBNs might have traffic, but it is not the main concern when buying such links.

PBN having traffic looks like normal site.
What making huge difference if more PBN's is used.
More suspicions increasing chance to deindex your PBN,
especially that some footprints are impossible to hide.

This. It's to up your Authority. The sites I've been using with PBNs have been hit hard by Google, so I'm no longer taking free reviews for them. And, I keep reading (and a strong believer) that links from sites with real traffic count more - which makes sense if you think about it. Google can easily tell which sites get good traffic and which don't get any.

Exactly, because each serious page or blog have traffic, so such PBN looks like natural site.
Also, each new link brings less or more traffic, if is natural.
PBN's which was created only for links, not bring any traffic - what making a huge difference.

And Google can quickly verify this traffic via:
  1. Google DNS
  2. Chrome
  3. Android devices
  4. CTR in organic search results.
In case 2,3,4 - Google even can know who exactly visited this website.
 
This confirms my theory, meaning that PBNs usually have no traffic or low. I think that using them for diversification can work, but relying only on PBNs it's not a very good decision.
 
The outreach agency I run, we don't accept sites to become publishers that have little to no traffic, regardless of their DR, referring domains etc.
It just looks as dodgy as hell. A site with real traffic, a clean backlink profile yet lower metrics, I'd prefer, every day.
