PBN site, restore from WebArchive or set up a new site?

Hey guys,

Would you restore an old site on a domain for PBN, or just create a new one with brand new content? Have you had any problems with restoring old websites, especially legal issues or similar? Have old owners ever reached out about using their old content?

Restore the old website is always the best solution. If the site was flash or shitty one.. than create a new one but try ti keep the same niche..
 
Yeah, I was going to keep the original niche anyway. I am just afraid I will have legal issues since I don't own the content. So I am wondering if anyone ever had problems with restoring content...
 
I prefer a new setup, but you are going to find mix views here.

Copyright issues with content happen super rarely, so I wouldn't be afraid of that. However, it still is one of the factors why I almost never recreate the content. I want content on my PBN to be as related to the money site as possible. Even if the former website was in the same niche.
 
Using old content will sometimes end up in copyright issues and I don't want my invest and effort to be vain. So I prefer new content.
 
There is no issue in setting up new webite but make sure to make pages from where you are getting backlinks....
 
thank you all guys, you've been very helpful. I think I will diversify between having my own content/design and restoring the previous site completely.
 
Technically, you could have legal issues but it's very unlikely. I haven't heard of anyone being sued or having their site taken down because of this. Depends who you are copying though. for example, a restaurant or any other brand is more likely to sue you than a blogger.
 
Another question just popped up. I see a lot of domains expiring that once belonged to companies. Do you avoid these domains or use them anyway buy retheme just a little bit?
 
Do you really think that companies who didn't want to pay 9 usd for the domain will care if you use their old domain?
