Do you guys prefer to repurpose dropped domains? For example, you find a good domain with good metrics that used to be a cats blog but your money site is about balding treatments, do you

a. restore the site using wayback so its pretty much looks like the site came back from the dead
b. restore site using completely fresh new content about cats
c. restore site using completely fresh content about balding treatment, completely ignoring the old topic?

I've been doing option C, but want to know if options A/B are better.

I get niche relevant domains and recreate the same site as closely as possible to the old site and add content.

I sometimes go for option B - restoring a complete site with new logo / fresh content - and make a link in the footer that says 'site sponsored by _mywebsitelink_'

It depends but most of the time I use option B or C if the domain isn't niche relevant. But for example if the old website was about car insurance and the website I'm trying to rank for was about gold fishes I would just replicate the old site and create a blog post about how to insure a gold fish.

I prefer B/C option. Both options is looking like similar. If I choose c option, google can understand footprint. Search engines can kick me. If I use option B with my site link. That link looks like buying links. But Option C is the best way, if I can ignore footprints.

a) I always restore pages that include inbound links, you can check this pages at ahrefs - Overview > Top Page. What reason use domain with broken links?

I usually restore the old site and place a single link on the content

The best way is to use old niche and insert your link somewhere in the context but make sure to make some sense

E.G "What are the best balding treatments for cat owners? Simple , borrow some hair from your cat"

Use your imagination,it's that simple.No need to complicate things.
