Hi guys,

I had built around 5 pbn links to site which already had some nice natural backlinks.

After the first one it went up quite nice and within 2 days.

Then I built the other ones. It again slowly went up but now after 2 months rankings for the first easier keyword went down to almost where it started.

Now you will ask several questions about footprints right?

Ok, here are the details:

All domains were expired/dropped domains
All are sitting on separate hostings
All have different anchors
All are theme relevant now
All have images and videos and outgoing links to other sites
All have unique non spun content of 400 words on average
However, I used the same email both on hostings and for the websites and even the same password.

Maybe the last point was the reason?

If yes could it be fixed by changing them afterwards?

Do you have any of the sites linked via a webmaster tools account in Google or analytics or something like that?

I would be surprised if just a few links would cause a drop in rankings but you mentioned that the rank has gone back to where it started as opposed to outright dropped so it could be that your PBN is being ignored as opposed to passing on any penalisation.

Trying to remove a footprint, if that is the issue, after a potential PBN deindex is unlikely to help much at all. If it has been flagged the damage is already done, if that is indeed the issue.

Have you checked that the PBN sites are still indexed and/or that they rank for any really easy terms that they should rank for.

One of the issues that I could imagine being cause for your PBN being ignored is the 400 word content, is it just a homepage with 400 words or is it a site with multiple pages of 400 words? Generally I find it preferable to have multiple articles of varying length throughout a site as opposed to just a few pages with 500 or fewer words per page.
