PBN Question

So I'm trying to figure more about PBNs these days. The effect of a PBN relies mainly on Domains right? I just have a dumb question, without going for seperate Paid hostings can't we use our domains in Free blogging platforms like wordpress.com and create a PBN? In fact for lesser footprints, we can use different emails and IPs, Is this a good idea or a bad idea? I dont think it would reduce the link juice to the main site. But it will reduce the cost. There is a chance that your free blog may get deleted, yet you can use your domain elsewhere?

You have the concept wrong.

What you described in your OP is what we call web 2.0s, these wont have any links already pointing to them but they are still good because the power of the root domain.

A PBN is a group of domains that have a considerable amount of link juice flowing to them from the backlinks they already have.

With web 2.0s they are good to rank but most people do tier link building to them for the most benefits.

I get the concept really well mate. I my self is a Web 2.0 creator. I get it. What I mean is , just think that we create 5 web 2.0 s with example urls : xxxx.wordpress.com., yyy.tumblr.com and add our TOp level Expired domains, to them replacing xxxx.wordpress.com with MyPBNdomain.com etc. It will save the cost of the hosting right?
 
You can certainly do that and you won't lose your domain should your site get deleted (you will just setup an other hosting and change the DNS). I've checked it for wordpress for example, there you need to change the DNS settings of your domain to "NS1.WORDPRESS.COM" in order this to work. They have a step-by-step guide. It won't be free though: "Domain mapping is a paid upgrade that costs $13.00 per domain, per year."

So you can take it as a ~ 1 USD/month hosting.
 
If you combine the power of web 2.0 with a quality expired domain then you will be laughing all the way to the bank. Use an old expired domain that already has a good link profile, build a web 2.0 site on it with relevant content, then build links back to your money site. Repeat this as many times as you can afford to, then believe me, you will see results like never before...
 
Interesting, never heard of that before and curious to see the effectiveness of the method and if anybody has experienced good results with it.
 
I don't see any reason that you couldn't do this but relying on this for all of your hosting in a PBN would be a footprint as much as using all hostgator or all hostwinds etc.

There are quite a few of these sites that support it these days so you could do it and it should work so long as your domains are spread across these and other hosts it should work well.
 
Absolutely you can do that - but most people don't do it because it's more expensive than $1 shared hostings out there. Generally you can take advantage of any platform that gives you the ability to use your own domain, but for the sake of keeping hosting costs low, I'd advise you to just pick some cheap shared hosts.
 
I like the idea OP. I mean yeah money wise, it is more as opposed to taking dollar hosting for expired domains but I do see the upside in it all... For instance you get the power of Wordpress blog domain in the form of DA and also the power of a PBN site but your actual domain is safe from deindexing as long as you do your new disguised web 2.0 right (I hope that's what you meant.) For expired domains with very good metrics do you think this would actually be a worthy investment? I think this may add a lot of power to that expired domain maybe even allowing it to rank in its own niche because of all the added metrics.
 
I wonder what happens if Someone could go with the Blogger Platform with Separate Phone verified Gmail and IPs for each website, so there won't be any cost regarding the hosting aspect.

No, 301 redirects lowering the strength of a lot of backlinks from PBN domain.

With the redirect you lose a lot of link juice!
