Fingerprints run much deeper than just the whois data on a domain. Matter of fact, I don't use the same whois protection services on any more than two sites at a time. Looking at nameservers, hosting services, account names on wordpress, creation dates, etc. can build just as much of a profile for a PBN as any privacy protection service out there.
If you're serious about building a PBN, be prepared to have money to throw at it. They simply are not cheap.

It's all about the IPs, and WHOIS privacy doesn't change the IPs of your PBN domains. The only way to do that is to use different web hosts.
