Hi I have a question

If I build a PBN

But it get hits with a penalty

My site gets dropped from the rankings

If I remove the links from my site off the PBN will the penalty get reversed?

And also what happens to the other sites that I link to in that are not mine? You know the links that are used to make site look more authentic and are niche related, Do they get hit to? How does it work?

help!!!!!

some of you must know

If a site on a PBN is penalized, it'll stop passing the authority to the external links, i.e., your money site hence its rankings will be dropped. You don't even have to remove those links, but it's good to have them removed so you don't get caught on the radar again. The other sites that you linked to like Wikipedia won't be affected.

If by 'dropped from the rankings' you mean 'deindexed' because of your sites association with a blog network that gets taken out by Google, then you'll probably have to do a lot more than just remove those links. You'll probably have to submit a reconsideration request and grovel to Google, after you've you've cleaned up your back link profile.

so what happens to sites that get put on the PBN just to make it look normal (but not owned by the person who made the PBN) they can get damaged by that? doesn't seem fair

If you mean authority sites that they link to from their blog network, then those aren't likely to get penalized for having a handful of private blog network links pointed at them, they have so much trust and authority already. It's not an issue for sites like Wikipedia and WebMD in the slightest.

In my experience, your site is not likely going to drop in rankings due to a "penalty", rather it will drop because it has less link juice going to it. That being said, you don't necessarily need to remove the link right away.

I try not to be too "reactive" to ranking fluctuations. It's never a good idea to have links to your site from de-indexed domains, but it seems like it could raise some red flags if all of a sudden 30 PBNs linking to your site are de-indexed, then all 30 of them immediately remove the links to your "money site". I normally just take down the PBN sites one at a time over the course of a few weeks.

Now if you only have one site linking to yours that has been de-indexed. Go ahead and take it down... or don't... it shouldn't make much of a difference at this point
