PBN or High DA Guest Post - What the difference ?

i read some thread here about PBN and from what i understand:
(in short) you find expired domain with high DA, build a site on it with fews articles, and 1 or 2 max. articles with the link of your money site. Rinse and repeat . From what i understand most of thoses PBN will have low to no traffic.

My question is: Why create a PBN for 1 or 2 articles when you can get (by paying) a guest post on high DA websites that have already traffic ?

For exemple: Expired domain for the PBN have a DA of 30, but Website where i can guest posting have a DA of 65.

What is the difference ? Because from what i understand PBN can be risky, no ?

The strength of a link from a PBN is likely to be more than the strength of a link from a guest post website. Of course, that's a generalisation because the strength of a link depends on several factors, but as a quick explanation...

The strength of a link from a webpage depends both on how many pages are linking to the page (incoming links), and how many pages it links to itself (outgoing links).

If you build a PBN, you might have 50 incoming links and 5 outgoing. A site that accepts guest posts might have 50 incoming links and 40 outgoing links, making each outgoing link worth much less.

This is also why a PBN you build yourself is often stronger than a PBN you buy from the marketplace. Any marketplace seller is going to have to sell many outbound links to make the PBN profitable, whereas you're unlikely to link out as much. If you ever buy a PBN service from the marketplace, take a note of the ratio of incoming links (referring domains or RD) to the max OBL (OutBound Links). Marketplace PBNs that are built on domains with 50RD are not going to move your rankings significantly if they have 30 OBL. Often, a single link from a higher RD site with fewer OBL is worth more than 10 or 20 links from a cheaper PBN with low RD and high OBL.

Topical relevance of the two pages is also important. If you control a PBN, you can generally make the page on the PBN more topically relevant to your target page and create other topically relevant pages on the same PBN to make the linking page topically stronger.

Yes PBNs can be risky but PBNs are cheaper than guest posts with same matrices. I think that's why people usually go for PBNs. Also, I have personally seen power of guest posts getting diminished over the years over my campaigns.

Mostly money is matter here. guest post they have their own guidelines but bpn its our wish to operate.

Basically, you can sell guest post on your site.

PBN is a collection of blogs which are created to get links to main websites. Usually, it is created using collection of high domain metrics expired domains. The advantages of a PBN are Strength, link control.

Guest posting is a technique you need to outreach to different bloggers in your niche to post articles which you have created or will create for them. Then, they offer backlinks to your website. The advantages of a guest post are referral traffic, safety, niche relevnacy.

Provided it is a genuine guest post and not a PBN site offered out as a guest post.

Guest posts beats the average PBN 10 times out of 10. It's safer, has zero footprint (because it's a genuine website), can drive real traffic and will probably not disappear within a couple of months.

It all boils down to CONTROL

With a PBN, you get to choose among different domains (which you can further filter by niche)

You also control how the content will link to your money site

You can also link to other sites in your network or even link to people paying you

There are alot more possbilities with your own PBN compared to paying $600 for a HuffPo guest post backlink

Guest posts are often touted as being safer, but if you pay for it, you're still breaking Google's rules.

PBNs, if set-up and run as real websites with a real reason to link, are just as safe. There should be no difference between a PBN and a money site, except that the PBN has been created to link out to the money site.

A good quality PBN can also drive just as much traffic.

In my experience, guest posts are taken down by the site owner often. I've had situations where the blog is closed down within six months (presumably the owner doesn't have time to write or its not profitable enough - if it was profitable then the owner wouldn't be looking for $100 guest posts), where the article is removed (presumably because it wasn't written by the blog owner and he/she doesn't like the style), and where the link is removed (presumably because a blog owner becomes fearful that linking out will hurt their blog if the link has been paid for). When I buy guest posts I accept these things might happen. I lose about 50% of the guest posts I buy within a year I'd estimate.

As I said in my comment above, guest posts don't usually transfer much power, so the cost to power ratio is much higher for a guest post than with a PBN. In other words, you need more of them to boost your rankings. Factor in that they still carry risk in terms of possibly penalising your website, and I'd rather have a single link from a powerful, topically relevant PBN that I own and control (that is a real website), than the 10 or more guest posts I'd need to transfer an equivalent amount of link juice.

Lastly, there are a lot of links touted as being placed on guest posts, when really they are being placed on poor quality PBNs.
