PBN Linking Method - Case Study In Progress

I saw you mention that you don't necessarily look at TF and some of these metrics and you're right. In order to really know value of a domain the
whole profile and history need to be taken in to consideration. Links like that where you know they're not bought and are hard to get are very valuable
even if Majestic gives such a low TF score.
Take a hard look at the backlink profile and any seasoned guy can find out the worth of the domain, don't really need any metrics for that.

Since you have one month data, any updates here will be appreciated.

As posted in my last update the 2 money sites that have been targeted with this method are on first spot and traffic is still increasing on daily basis.

Out of the 30 PBNs that i have been targeting for longtails, 18 are on first spot, 6 on 2nd spot, 4 on 3rd spot and 1 on 4th spot and 1 on 5th spot. All in Google. I am not tracking other engines.

Traffic from all the sites have roughly touched 2100-2600 uniques per day and pageviews of 15k-17k every day.

As far as monetization is concerned, both the money sites use amazon affiliate and out of the 30 PBNs, 18 sites use adsense and rest of them use amazon. This is same as previous month, even though i had planned to try using adsense, i felt this configuration need to be checked at the peak traffic levels before i test with one monetization method for a full month on all sites.

Money sites are now earning $20-30 per day depending on weekday/weekend. Weekends being the better earners.

30 PBNs are earning around $15-20 per day out of which adsense is around $8-12.

Total earnings for the last 30 day is $1700, a nice increment of $600 from previous month earnings. Overall the earnings if it increases at this rate then i should be able to meet the target of $2k per month by next month.

Though i had lot of plans for improvement to these site, nothing could work out during this month due to certain pre-occupation with my client sites. However i would be doing these in this month.

During the next month i would be adding more content.

Future plan:
It has struck me that i can target more difficult/competitive keywords with these sites. Towards this, i would be developing more content aimed at targeting much more competitive terms. Current keywords are all more or less three phrase keywords and i am planning to target two phrase keywords with this plan. Of course, this would require more quality content and in quantity too. I will start work on this only after the next month earnings are in and after i cross the $2k earnings target.

That is some cool earnings and i have been working on the same line after reading thsi thread. Got the money site and PBNs set up. Have got to a great start with second page rankings for the money sites Now need to get the PBNs ranked using your Tier 2 PBNs :D Haven't started making money yet since i have not added any ads/affiliate links, will wait for the full rankings to do it.

Time to put this method to work, definitely seem to be a workable idea.

Great to know that you have gone much ahead with this experiment, let me know in case you need any help. Of course, you can use my services to get Tier 2 PBN links.

Definitely, it is working at my end so there is no reason it should not work.

Fantastic Case Study Sristy! Really amazing and actionable. A few questions...

1. Are Tier #1 PBNs supported by articles on Tier 2 PBNs and Web 2.0s, or just straight PBNs.

2. Regarding Tier #2 articles (that are ultimately helping Tier 1 PBNs rank for Longtail KW):

Are Tier two articles "longer" long tail keywords or something else? For Example: the Money Site keyword example is "Scarves"---> Tier 1 PBN (site 1) article Keyword is "Blue Silk Scarves" ---->are Tier 2 articles about something like "Dressing accessories for women" (which then leads to an anchor like "Blue Silk Scarves" to your PBN Tier 1) or is it a longer tail keyword such as "Blue Silk Scarves from Paris"

In other words, are Tier #2 keywords more specific to the target keyword or broad and open to related topics? Is relevancy important in this stage?

3. If I read correctly, for a major KW.. We are looking at building 20-30 PBNs on tier 1, and then 5-10 PBNs on tier 2 to backup each PBN tier 1...
(please correct me if I am wrong). When you are building, do you build like so? (3 variations)

A) Tier 1 PBN Site 1, Tier 1 PBN Site 2, Tier 1 PBN Site 3, etc.... Then on to tier 2 once Tier ones are complete OR do you do it like so?

B) Tier 1 PBN Site 1, Tier 2 PBN Site 1 (backing up T1PBN1), Tier 1 PBN Site 2, Tier 2 PBN Site 2 (backing up T1PBN2), etc...
OR
C) Tier 1 PBN Site 1, Tier 2 PBN Site 1 (backing up T1PBN1), Tier 2 PBN Site 2 (backing up T1PBN1), Tier 2 PBN Site 3 (backing up T1PBN1),

(Building tier 1, then the backup tier two thus, allowing you to see the impact of your Tier 1 plus Tier 2 sites)

If you need me to diagram it, I'd be more than happy... Thanks for your answer in advance.

Wait a minute... you put Adsense on your PBN's? Multiple adsense accounts I hope at least?

quick question.

For the 30 pbns you say your ranking for a 68k keyword. Are you using these pbns to link to ONE page on your site or are they all linking to your hompage or different pages?

Definitely actionable, answer to your questions:

1. Tier 1 PBNs are supported by Tier 2 PBNs completely. Each one of the 30 Tier 1 PBN also points to each of the money sites once.

2. Tier 1 & 2 articles are very niche related. That is if money site is about "silk scarves" then all Tier 1 articles are about "silk scarves" as well as "blue silk scarves" both keywords are found in the articles and then those articles of Tier 1 PBNs are linked from Tier 2 with articles written purely on "blue silk scarves".

3. Tier 1 have 30 PBNs which point to 2 money site all the time. Tier 2 PBNs are as per requirement till the Tier 1 ranks. Nothing hard & fast, after all it is Tier 2.

Regarding variations in linking, I am not complicating it. All 30 Tier 1 PBNs point to each money site once. And Tier 2 points to Tier 1 PBNs as per requirement. Here I don't check whether one particular Tier 2 PBN is pointing to 2 Tier 1 PBNs or not, that might be an overkill.

I hope I understood your question correctly.

Wait a minute... you put Adsense on your PBN's? Multiple adsense accounts I hope at least?

I use 4 Adsense accounts.

They link to just one page on the Money site. On Tier 1 PBNs, the Tier 2 also links to certain pages on Tier 1.

multiple thanks for taking the time and sharing your experience here. One question: assume that you are using a web 2.0 blog to act as a tier 1 PBN. in some blogs, you are able to have your favorite links on the side bar. so if you have 10 posts on that blog, meaning 10 different pages, your link is shown on every single page.

with you saying that you should only have the link 1 time from a PBN to your money site, does it mean that you are against using "my favorite" link section as provided on web 2.0 blogs?

thanks in advance

Web 2.0 can never replace the link quality of a powerful domain (read PBN), having said that if you want to link from a Web 2.0 always do it from a relevant article with your keywords in it and link out the first keyword in the article to your money site. Just ensure that the article gets indexed. Most Web 2.0s are notorious for not getting indexed. If you can find a relevant expired Web 2.0 from your niche that is a huge plus.

Hey there,

Awesome thread! Quick question about PBNs....is there an easy way to go about converting existing PBNs to reflect my current niche? I could crank out some filler articles with material related to my niche, but I wonder if that's the best way to go about it?

Wow, fantastic case study.
Makes total sense anyway because it's building on the strategy of making your pbn sites as good as your money sites - so your pbn looks, and is, 100% legit and less likely to get hit, it's ranking your site and its earning it's keep as well.

But seeing it done is pretty cool.

Nice one.

I don't find any reason why Google will not rank your PBNs for your current niche if majority of the articles in the site is related to your niche, towards this crank out more articles on your niche and post them to the PBN.

4 months since i built those PBNs and they are still holding strong.

Did you do any link diversity? Or did you just point PBNs to your Money site? Please, I need to know this. Great thread. Thanks a lot!

No links other than PBN, though I had great plans to add more links to it, that never materialised but PBNs have been working strong enough and as such I don't see the necessity now. But I may do this to avoid any other issues in future.

Oh wow, I think it's weird that You didn't get penalized. Isn't a very important factor in SEO to diversify links? How does this method work so successfully? I am kinda doing the same so I am worried about getting penalized. Thanks.
