PBN Linking Method - Case Study In Progress

It is not that hard to keep everything in wraps. Whether it is PBN or money site, all need to look genuine. There are hundreds of methods to keep things genuine. One of them is to feed fresh and natural looking content to the bots. I have been very consistent in doing that. Since the time I started it there has been no deindexinng.

Oh about competition, who cares. I just do my thing. If at all it gets reported I would just buy new domains and move everything over and start again. Can't wait for things to happen but need to make them happen.

Great information and approach.

What sort of themes/plugins do you like on your sites?

Also: Are you done updating this thread with progress? Since you've reached page 1 on all sites I can't imagine much else to say.

I have a pool of themes/plugins which i randomly choose for each PBN. Few plugins that i use are:
SEO (All in one SEO/Yoast)
Sitemap (sitemap generator, there are numerous ones in the WP plugin directory)
Social Sharing (social sharing buttons, there are hundreds of them, just choose random)

I also point my 404 page itself to homepage of the website so that the traffic/bots give credit of all links to the blog itself and not to a 404 page. I use custom edit of theme file to do this and not through any plugins.

This thread is open always since i need to get to first spot for all the keywords. And then also there will be updates on penalties, PBNs being taken down by Google etc. So this will be continued with updates.

Do you think having individual posts is weaker for a PBN instead of all posts on the same homepage?

I don't believe that, though most of my clients do believe in that. So i have to honour that most of the time. I believe if the post and link is indexed then it can be an individual page in the blog and do not require to be on the homepage. TBH, i haven't seen any negative effect or lost rankings due to that. Rankings are lost mostly due to other reasons than the post dropping off the homepage. I know the GURUS will not agree to it since it is a huge pricey market out there selling premium posts on homepage. My 2 cents :D

An update:
Since this method is bringing in some money, I just added more longtail keyword content to each of the PBNs. Ensured that the content is closely related to the main keyword of the PBN with the couple of longtail sprinkled in the article. Each article is at least 800 words long and some going up to 1200 words. However, I did not link the longtails from my 2nd tier PBN to these articles. Rather I added these keyword to the internal linking structure to link to these articles. From sidebar with article title containing the exact keyword as well as from the original article which already have 2nd tier PBN links to them. I did this around a week back and saw all those longtail keyword articles hitting the first 2 pages of Google within a span of 4-7 days. Internal linking still is a major factor in ranking of your keywords, do not forget to do this.

Meanwhile, the rankings of all the keywords have slightly improved in the last 2 weeks and led to increase in the earnings by close to 10%.

Also during this period I shifted some of my PBNs which were on $2-5 hosts to more premium hosts which costs above $5. Some of thise hosts are one.com x10premium.com servously.com rochen.com greengeeks siteground and few more. I also reverse checked IP provided to my hosting account to ensure that there are no other PBNs being hosted on them. This ensures IP neighbourhood reputation to be at its best.

Since this network is getting me some cash flow I wanted to give it the best possible PBN protection methods just to see whether this can be broken by Google. I have even outsourced few design elements in those PBNs by getting a logo, unique privacy and about us for each single of those PBNs. They are being worked upon while I write this.

I had earlier mentioned that I sold few spots on these premium domains to some of my exclusive long term clients. They all have more or less ranked for those keywords. And I cannot update on that part with any more info as some of them are BHW members and may not like it to be more detailed.

I will be doing an update later with my monetisation methods as well as the earnings since I started monetising.

How many PBNs do you have in tier 2? What anchor text ratios do you use on all tiers?

I use 80 tier 2 links spread out to all PBNs in tier 1. Exact match keywords are never more than 10% of the links. Rest are brand anchors and naked URLs. But articles contain the keywords in a generous manner.

Great Case Study. keep updating your results.
so internal linking and naked link strategy do their best on SERP.

Do your long tail keywords contain your main keywords?

More or less it does the job. Of course, diversify it with more variations of your keyword to get even better results.

Do your long tail keywords contain your main keywords?

Some of them do have the main keyword too, say around 50% of them do have the main anchor in the longtail.

This is a very nice approach for LT keyword, i am going to keep my eye on this, great job OP

Do you interlink Tier1 -> Tier1 ?
Do you interlink Tier2?

I know it is footprint but I saw people doing this.

thanks!

No, I don't do any kind of interlinking. It may be successful for short term but if you are looking for a long term revenue stream it is not worth taking that risk. If not Google you got to keep your competitors away.

Could you please tell more about tier2 PBN ? how many pages? Do you power up your tier2 with any backlinks GSA/spam/web 2.0 ?

You are girl? Such a gem in SEO industry :-) I know only 1 girl who was successful in SEO.

Tier 2 PBNs are general niche PBNs where i have backlinks to other money sites of mine. I don't build any backlinks to it. But i do have some basic criteria that me and my team follow while doing domain selection for the network. 10% of the domains in the network are picked up in auctions which means they are way more powerful for the network than just expired domains. While selecting expired domains, i ensure that they hold at least 20 RD with some nice backlinks to count for.

Hi there Sristy,

I dont understand why you would care to waste PBNs on second tier? Why not just use GSA for this? I am not trying to be a smartass, just wondering what the thought behind this is and also if its not very time consuming and expensive since building tier 1 PBN as i have done (having 50 PBNS) at the moment is expensive as it is..

Thanks for your contribution.

Thanks for all the posts and updates on this thread. Question about the above: when you did this, did you see a drop in traffic to the original articles? Obviously the main keyword traffic didn't fall, but did they lose longtail traffic to the new pages, or did everything go up?

GSA and other links are the worst to get indexed and the time and effort wasted to get them indexed is just not worth it. I prefer to use PBN links for various tiers and it is well within my control to get them indexed. Also, there is a unique advantage in having them for various tiers. If at all the domain/money site promoted get de-indexed i have a well tiered indexed articles with backlinks where in i can just change the domain (in place of penalised money site) and start afresh with a new domain. It becomes an all set up tiered link for even a new domain, i just need to re-schedule those posts for a future date to get them re-indexed/re-crawled by google.

No, i did not see any fall in traffic. No changes as far as traffic is concerned.

Do you recommend link to money site in footer or header (so i get backlink from all pages of a PBN)?

Getting a site wide link is a bad idea. Go for one single article with at least 800 words and then link out to your money site from the first paragraph of the article. Have 2 images in the article with keywords in alt tags as also have the keywords sprinkled at least 3-4 times in the article. Make the article sticky to homepage. Keep posting related articles once in a while to your PBN. You can target other related longtail keywords through these PBNs which is what my case study is all about.
