Hi there!

So, I've decided to start building my very first PBN. Being a member of BHW for a while, I feel much more confident than at the beginning, but still have a lot to learn :)

Could you please suggest:

1) Do I need to install any plugins for PBN sites (All of them are built on wordpress)?
2) Is it a good idea to build some links to PBN sites to gain more DA/TF/CF? For instance, link opportunities that have been generously shared by @Rachmaninoff and other BHW members? Or it is too risky for PBN?

Thanks in advance!

Install plugins as you would with a normal website. Make these look as normal as possible. Use different themes, plugins, hosting etc, etc, etc

@Monty99 if these are true PBN sites, it doesn't make sense adding links

The problem I've found with PBN nowadays, is that it is extremely difficult to find powerful domains to be used strictly as PBN as they used to be some years ago.
Therefore you have two options:

a) Reconvert those less powerful domains into half-money sites and work on them like any other site of yours, trying to drive some traffic and being 100% legit.
b) Try to bid high and purchase really powerful domains (for a good amount of money)

From my current experience, the costs of maintaining less powerful domains just as pure PBN (not linking to them), aren't worth for me: too much work and low profit.

Although if you are lucky and could find some good gems, then the answer to the questions are:
1. The least plugins the best, and try to avoid using the same config in two different domains. In fact if you could avoid using Wordpress in all of them, it would be even greater
2. No links

@Mr Positive @MisterF @SirLouen Thank you all very much! Alright, I'll focus on handwritten content rather than new links. Will also try to diversify everything as much as possible.

Could you, please, also clarify one moment with redirects:

1. If the wayback machine shows a redirect from http://example.com to http://ww1example.com - does it means that such a domain isn't worth buying, or no seo value has been lost with such sort of self-redirect?
2. Same case with a redirect from http://example.com to http://example.com/[internal page]

@Monty99 try to check a little bit further with Archive than just the latest snapshot. Although if the redirected page is right just follow the analysis from there, it's not an issue.
When you build the PBN you only have to check where the links go to regardless of the redirects. If all the links go to ww1 then you should start building from there.

Fuck handwritten content. Zero benefits. Reuse the content from the wayback (check if is not used elsewhere), or get the cheapest content possible, as long as is unique and not total guberish.
Redirects to ww1 etc are parking pages - no problems at all. Same with redirect to internal page or even to different domain if its look natural. As bla bla .co.uk to bla bla .com for example.

About building links, yeah it can work, if you have the time to do it. Links are links, fresh links are even better. Thats basically how tier 2 works. Just dont spam mindlessly your own PBNs.

@AngelSeo @SirLouen

Got it. Thank you very much!
BHW is such an awesome place. Looking forward to the day when I'll be able to contribute something useful to the forum.

You can install as many plugins as you like, just make sure you're not leaving a public footprint.

I'd rather build my pbns on powerful auctioned domains rather than expired ones. Remember Each domain you purchase you will have to buy new hosting for. So if you think your saving money by buying expired domains than auction domains you might be wrong. You will have to pay renewals and hosting every year. So for me it's better to buy an auction domain DA 40 for example than expired one DA 15. Am using DA just for the sake of the argument you should focus on the backlinks profile of the domains instead of DA of course

So for me it's better to buy an auction domain DA 40 for example than expired one DA 15.

The problem is that the DA 40 can cost a grand. A dedicated IP + domain + shared VPS among 6 domains, can cost, per domain, around $3/mo ($40/yr).
And you still have to pay the same for the DA40 domain

So essentially, this is a big dilemma. Because also content has to be purchased (even if it is a little bit rubbish), or the time to copy/paste from expired content (if you trust a VA in the process and you have a huge work on this).
The problem mainly is having the grant to invest and wait for a return. Personally I can manage to get a couple of DA30+ fairly easy every week, and sometimes, even better domains that what I can find on a bidding for less than $500.

But still, this is a dilemma. Time spent on average domains, is time not spent on working on something maybe better. This is why I'm losing the faith on scraping over the time :(

Well there are always domain brokers. If you spend $X for domains +X hours of your time, at some point cost wise would be better to just buy the domains from someone who you trust that will meet your standards.
