PBN Domains

Hi guys,

I'm currently looking at registering some PBN domains, however I'm having a bit of trouble identifying good ones - would love it if somebody could offer me some help!

Essentially I am looking to see if the domains I have found (which are good) have been used before - the wayback machine has records in the past and nothing showing that they have been used before.

However, these records are quite old in some cases - if I choose to register these domains and link them to my money site, will my PBN get detected? (if they have been used before)

And Is there a way to test if they have been registered before - aside from using the wayback machine?

Look for domains with at least 25+ PA, 15+ DA, and 15+ TF

Metrics wont mean the domain is good but it gives you an idea, you still have to manually check the link profile.

Anyway, when you check the domain in wayback just look at what it shows.

If the domains was a blog and linked to websites using exact match anchor it was a PBN site.

You will tell right away when a site was used in a PBN, avoid it when you see it.

I am well aware of what a PBN site looks like, that is not what I was asking. Wayback machine is fine, they're just old records though (2011-2012) and I don't know what happened in between.

I also don't know the consequences of linking an old PBN to my money site.

Step 3. If the domain has not been used by the chinese or a PBN register it.

Look, I know what a PBN domain looks like.

The issue is, the ONLY IMAGES on the wayback machine are REALLY OLD (3-4 years ago).

The domains were not PBN domains in any of the images.

Questions:

1) Is there any other way to check if they were PBN domains between 2012-2015.

2) If they were (but I don't detect them) and I link them to my money site - will Google detect my entire PBN?

See if this shows anything http://www.screenshots.com/

You can also check and see if the domain was registered in the last 3-4 years, if it wasn't picked up then of course no images will be there.

If the site was a PBN google wont "detect" you

The PBN site will just never get index because its penalized.

Check the domain registration history for any owner changes. Try domainhistory.net

Also check the backlinks and anchor text.

Thanks man - that's what I was looking for. I appreciate it!

Reading comments would not really help you I guess.

1. Check if domain is not registered yet (if you use software to find them)
2. Go to screenshots.com and see what was there (btw if you see hieroglyphs/Chinese, but whole site is clean and without spam then even those websites are fine, depending on what you plan to do with them)
3. As you also noted internet archive is a good source. Check all years and dates.
4. Use SEO SpyGlass soft (free version will be fine). Check count of referring domains (I suggest minimum 5, but normally it should be around 15-25). Low amount of RD can mean, that some of links might disappear and metrics will vanish. Check backlink profile and see what kind of websites are linking to it. Avoid cheap directories and spam looking websites. Also check anchor text, anchor url and keywords. You will see easily identify if domain was spammed. If you plan to do local SEO, then look at TLD's also.
5. Then go to ahrefs/majestic (it's free for 3-4 inquiries) and also check referring domains, anchor text and overall condition of webpage.
Also some notes about metrics. Look for DA15-17, and TF 15-20, CF-20-25. TF and CF should be around same number, if they vary a lot, then it's a signal that domain was spammed or another alert.

Whois check the domain at http://whois.domaintools.com/.

If it was registered before, you should get something like this:

Registrar History: 2 registrars with 1 drop

In this case 2 registrars means the domain has been registered two times and 1 drop means it has been dropped (unregistered) once.

There are pros filtering and buying these domains 24x7.

Go to the marketplace and buy a domain for your PBN, or buy a set of domains to build a PBN, I've seen plenty of services offering this.

Domains with wayback records are those that have previously been used. However, look for metrics on backlink trackers to see what results your choice domains come up with.

3-4 years is not really old. I have some that go back to 2000 and nothing since.

You can see if they were used by Wayback machine and by looking at the anchor texts used.

If someone used them as a money site and built links, they usually stick out. If their anchor portfolios look good, and archive.org looks good, get them.
