Hi,

I am getting into the world of SEO and have spent alot of time looking at the PBN options.

However, does a PBN have to be private? If you have a number of sites which are real, and work then why can't you link between each other like you would throughout the site to pass page authority?

You don't seem like you spent a lot of time learning about PBNs. Search on google: site:blackhatworld.com pbn and start reading.

Yes its great if your PBN sites all look real - the more real tehy look, the better of course. But you definitely dont want to link between them because for the sites you are trying to rank, the whole point is that you make the appearance of that site having X umber of links from random sites across the internet, not X number of links from a pool of sites that are all related to each other.

Having them link to each other just points out clearly to google that all of those sites and potentially the sites they are linking to are all either belonging to the same person who is trying to game google or at best that they are all from teh same neighbourhood and just recommending each other rather than a site being recommended from all different indipendant sources.

I linked one of my sites to another one, but not any web 2.0 pbn's. In a world of millions of sites you don't want your back link pbn overlaying with another back link pbn.

Avoid those at all costs! PBNs and all its practices, tricks, and "secret" techniques from "SEO gurus" has been already done and reiterated over and over again. If I can expose your PBN in a matter of 20 mins, Google will too no problemo

Some of mine are private. Most are not. If you make it look like a real site, with real high quality content then there is no need to hide it. The ones I hide are the ones I build for other people that request it. Quality is king for PBN's. Also, none of mine link to each other. I haven't had any personal experience with that but just playing it safe.
