Blackhat methods are always having some risk. So Check out the links you are getting from it. Its PBNs OR Guest posts whatever check out the metrics and quality of the sites before going to get links.

If the pbn traffic or ranking impacted by google spam update, then it is possible that the pbn is bad,

In my opinion, relevance has no effect here. You have to look at the quality of the link
