PBN Backlink Question

I'm sure this question has already been asked...

I am experimenting with some of my domains and services on here to see which ones increase my rankings the most without being penalized.

I have been looking at PBN backlinks and please forgive me if I'm wrong, but is it a best practice to direct these PBN links to a backlink that is not on a website of your own? Or would it be safe/beneficial to link it on my main website?

PBN links (the good ones at least) are very powerful, and if you're going to pay for them you're wasting both your money and their power if you point them to useless / 3rd party sites.

Point them directly to the best pages of your money site, preferably with exact / brand match anchors too (depending on the situation)

Link it to main website. Otherwise all link juice will be lost.
 
Anyone purchasing PBN links is most likely redirecting them to there money site/main site.

May be different for those who own there own PBN network.

Really depends on the quality, and how many websites you run too.
Pointing directly to money site that is not moving much could fit, same as with just to other tier2 sites of yours.

Depending on the quality of PBN and how the owner takes care of it. If it's some of the best, it is best to point the link to the site you're trying to rank. That way, most of the link juice would go straight to the site instead of passing through another where it could be diluted.

But when you're buying bunch of not-so-good PBNs, it is not recommended to point them to any money site.
 
I've a question, what is tier 2 or 3?

Why some recommend pointing links generated from GSA to tier 2 or 3?

Tier 1 links are directly pointing to our main website.

Tier 2 are the links pointing to the webpage from where we have backlink to our main website.

Tier 3 is like the above again.

Why not point to the main website directly.

For Tier 2, is it still the same domain as the main website? Or point to another domain that has a backlink to your main website?

Do you mean the word domain for same niche??
 
All good quality PBNs should link to your website and as @judealex said you use all PBNs as Tier 2.
 
If pointing GSA to the main site is risky and could invite a penalty.

Can't someone spam onto a competitor main site and get him into trouble?

What could be done to recover the penalty?

According to my knowledge, it's safer and better to use PBN backlinks on other websites, not your main one, to avoid potential penalties from search engines.
