PBN and Monitization?

So first time setting up a PBN. I have seen it is not advised to monitize your PBN sites with ads and whatnot because the code can be tracked and your PBN exposed as you owning all the blogs. Is that the only reason? For example if one of my blogs in my PBN keeps getting significant traffic could I advertise with a service I have never used before so it would be the first time I used a particular ad network?

Or is there another reason you are advised not to advertise on your PBN that I am missing?

I'm sure this has crossed a lot of people's minds at some point or another but in reality you're just asking for trouble doing this.

It might not seem like a big deal now, but once you have a lot of pbn sites (most of which you have made yourself) the last thing you want to do is expose that and lose them. You'll likely lose your money site in the process.

Not sure what other reasons you want but for me personally, that's more than enough reasons to not do anything that exposes them.

I think, why not? If you are creating quality PBN Blogs and one (some of them) provide value to visitors and receiving a lot of traffic, I don't see a reason not to monetize it.
 
If one of your pbn has a decent traffic you can always monetize them for sure with any networks but google / adsense. The thing is, if you build your pbn randomly (not in the same hosting/IP/server/registrar, unique whois, theme, etc) I don't think that'd be a problem.
 
Why not? But you need to be careful because monetizing can leave footprints.
 
I see what you're saying. It makes sense especially if/when you use adsense. That's because all of your sites would then have the same pub ID leaving a nice footprint to be caught. Its that easy. Unless you were using different adsense accounts. In my opinion, its not worth it.
 
Well...it really depends on your definition of a pbn.
If by pbn you means a 5 article site with spun content boosting your money site, then avoid any footprint whatsoever!

If your pbn is more or less an authority site itself..meaning lots of original content etc, why not? Lots of legit people have more than one legit site and of course they monetize them. they even share links between them (which works great)
 
If the PBN is set up properly and you dont leave the glaringly obvious footprints then how would you be exposed for owning all the blogs, surely you dont have all the domains registered with the same registrar and under the same name?

Surely they are not all in the same shared hosting account.

As that wouldnt be a PBN, as you havent got the basics right.

As others have said, you could providing there is no footprints between the sites and that you are not creating any footprint by doing so it would only look like any other regular site with ads on it.

Just keep yourself covered and you should be fine.
 
If you see the traffic is good on your PBN then I think keeping one ad can be good.
 
What is the best way to track traffic on your PBN? jetpack stats? Clicky? other?

Hi mate. You can open a new thread for this....you bumped a old thread.

For PBNs just rely on server logs. Any kind of tracker will set the same footprints as ads.
 
I WOULD add ads if you can, it makes it more legit. Of course you can't have anything connected to your name, or use the same ad code on multiple sites.
 
One thing I dont understand, why the PBN has to be hidden AT ALL? I understand a PBN is a strong site, originall content and all good stuff, which U want to keep hidden from ur competitors, but why? It's your site, it's not that they will be able to make a backlink there aswell. Maybe report it to google? But what if they do? ur site is all ok, isnt it?

Yes, keep it hidden to keep competitors from discovering your PBN and reporting it to Google. Reporting it to Google doesn't mean for sure Google will take some action, but they might. So why risk it?

Also, if your money site is ranking, competitors are going to look at the money site's backlinks to try to figure out what it will take to beat you. If competitors know exactly what you did to rank, they'll do what you did, plus just a little more. Like, if they see you have 20 PBN sites linking to your money site, they'll figure they need at least that number as well. Why help out your competition?

Good point! I thought it was risky , yet they all talk about the greateness of the pbn. Thank you for explaining.
