Hey everyone I recently was browsing craigslist and found an ad for a carb for my car I talked to the guy and paid him through paypal. That was a month ago he never sent out my part I was wondering if there was any way he could get in trouble or take some legal action against him or if I just fell for a simple scam lol. Since it wasn't on ebay or anything is he at all liable in any way?

Yes, simply go into your paypal account and file a complaint. Then, the process begins, and they will end up deciding on the case if he doesn't respond or send you the part.

Make sure you do research on the best way to file a complaint.

I filed a complaint, said I only received part of my item, and they did nothing ...

Alright, what if he has already used the money up? Thank you for the quick reply

Makes no difference if he has spent the money.

File an "Item Not Recevied" complaint.

He must then provide a tracking number and since it is farily obvious that he has no intention of doing so, your funds will be restored to you under PayPa'ls Buyer Protection Plan.

You MUST file "Item Not Received" as you only have ONE shot at this unless you paid through PayPal via credit card so that if PayPal finds in his favour, which is very unlikely, you can then file a dispute through your credit card company, depending on how old this matter is.

When he cannot provide a tracking number, PayPal will find in YOUR favour.

In the meantime, whiy did you wait 30 days?

Even if he had sent the item to you via Snail Mail, two woeeks at the outside!

I been doin' PayPal since they bought BillPoint and gave everyone a PayPal account, so I know!

Now get off your ass, quit whining and..........

......STAND UP FOR YOUR RIGHTS!:)

By the way, you only have 45 days to file this complaint so don't let any grass grow!

Thats for paypal to worry about. They immediately take the money from his account when you file the complaint. They hold it while they decide who wins the case.

Ok thanks haha. I appreciate the quick response.

No problem man. Just let me know if you have any further questions when you're going through the process.

I was just about to come to your rescue and explain the PayPal "Item Not Received" procedure you must exercise without delay, but Uptownbulker has covered it with admirable brevity.

Do exactly as he says and all should go well and in your favour.

Good luck!
