I am going start my very 1st ecommerce site with paypal payment gateway. This is the 1st time i'm not selling via any 3rd party site but from my very own site with my verified paypal account.

What about the security of paypal payment.as we can get order from a totally anonymous/unknown person. How to prevent refund or any other frauds?

whats up buddies..please help with the issue

paypal have good fraud systems in place, also read seller protection information

Personally i would not ship to anyone who doesnt have a confirmed shipping address

If you're dealing with really expensive items and people in foreign countries, what we've done in the past is have someone scan in their ID as well as a recent bank statement with their name and address on it.

That way, if they have a stolen CC, there's little chance they'll also have a stolen bank statement :)

Other than that, you can pay extra for Paypal's fraud filters, which are somewhat helpful but they can give red flags on just about anything so you have to get used to using it for a while.

Most orders online are not fraudulent though, after you get burned a few times then you should take a look at it, but I'd worry more about just getting your sales going strong.

PayPal's fraud system is indeed top notch. Probably stronger than many credit card companies.

Are you shipping goods or selling a digital product? Fraud rates in general are radically different between those tiers.

I'll sell online services that mean digital products..

Do you mean you will be using PayFlow along with a merchant, or just using a PayPal Business account?
