So basically I have been drop-shipping consumer electronics, I have an excellent factory that is happy for me to do this and are very helpful.

I had been going for about 2 months and sales had picked up nicely, I was making about $1500 a month, my customers are all happy with the products and service. then my paypal account get's limited, again, not a massive issue, send some docs, 3 days back to normal, except this time even though i was told my account would go back to normal after 24 - 72 hours , as soon as I get off the phone I get an email, "your account has been closed" im sure you know the score. So I call paypal, and get 6 different reasons from 4 different advisers, first they tried to tell me that I was sending items without tracking numbers, I told them check the invoice's I sent them from the supplier, the customer also has a copy of that tacking number. this went on for hours.

To cut a long story short, paypal wont take my payments anymore, and I am not sure I would want them to given how they treat their customers.

Most murchent accounts dont support drop-shipping, so now I am strugling to find someone else to take my payments.

    Who do you guys use?

    Have you had any problems?

I will need to set up my own store now as well ( not enough cash to sell on amazon as i have over $1700 being held by paypal.)

I am due to emigrate on the 05/10/13and this drop-shipping is what was going to be keeping me alive.

to be fair it really bites the big one that ebay uk is the only ebay site where paypal is the only payment processor.

But yea, if someone could help me out with a suitable payment gate way that would be awesome

    Hi,

Thanks for the reply, Skrill is no longer an ebay partner, ebay uk has removed all 3rd party payments. ( i found out after setting up and account because they say they are an ebay partner) seems ebay didnt like people eating their cake, So far I havnt been able to find how to impliment skrill into a site like shopify ( this is the kind of solution I am looking at now) but I did manage to find that a few posts saying if skrill find out you are dropshiping they hold all the funds on your account, couldnt find out how long for though. I will take another look at the site though and double check

Paypal is the main payment processor for 95% of all consumers.. You can get payza etc but use it all as secondary payyment gateways.

I still suggest to create a new paypal account with a relatives name maybe instead

Paypal doesnt really like drop shipping, anyway you could move away from this?

In the long run you will make more from traditional selling.

Just as he said create one in a families name... that's what I had to do. But make sure nothing ties to the old account: address, phone, etc. Then after a bit convert to a business account.

The other option would be to get Payza or Bluesnap, maybe even 2Checkout

Before I started Dropshiping I was living relatives and friends sofa's, I still am but I had almost enough to get me back on my feet and import my own stock. Dropshipping was the only option as I didnt have a Penney, I have a thread I started before the dropshipping took off where I was testing different methods, ie marketing with crackrevanue setting up a site to recruit webcam models (still have the bulk of this project but never found any solid infomation, i was looking at internet modeling but they had to meany restrictions on what the models nationality was I had 3 agents ready to go 1 of witch was planning to set up a studio, but they were from one of the black listed countries. And when the dropshipping took off it was doing well enough that is what I started to develop.

The original plan was dropship till I can get 6weeks worth of stock, after 6 weeks worth of stock the next goal was amazon, when paypal closed my account, the money I had to invest was in the account, so now frozen for 6 months.

To be honest the paypal close couldnt have come at a worse time, I have flights booked to move to somewhere cheaper than the uk, so I could invest more of what I made on into turning the dropshipping into a proper businesses.

Ahh well shit happens, think I am going to go for a full ecommerce set up with something like shopify using a payment gateway like cardsave or sagepay, and if I am in need of affiliate's I happen to know where to find they best ;)

I know this question may miss the target completely given the thread that it's in but at the moment it's not worth opening a new thread,

What sort of commission % is average for affiliate markets in consumer electronics?

    Thanks for all the advice

Sorry to hear about your misfortune op. A real shame how paypal treats its clients. You can think about 2checkout or a way
to get another paypal account to give yourself some more time before this happens again (hopefully not)
