so i have been selling a lot of things and keeping the money in my paypal. i have no charge backs. up untill 6 month ago they permanently limited my account with $4.5k, i was devastated i blamed my self for not withdrawing it i called them and they confirm i will withdraw it before the ending of october i was happy about it untill 2 days before i can withdraw it they reversed the money to the person that send me the money keep in mind he did not ask them to do so i email him and ask him to call them and ask why they did that then they reversed the money from his account to the account that send him the money basically they are telling him to stay out of it now he cant do a thing about it and his account is limited permanently as well and the money is gone just like that i dont get it and i dont know what to do.

Sometimes paypal is very tricky. From where are those paypal accounts?(Countries) yours and his...

they are basically the only way i can receive payment from where i am currently i sell stuffs and work as a freelancer most people only use paypal otherwise i wont get paid

Germany and australia are the countries

That's seriously fucked up situation. I don't understand why they send money back to someone who hasn't complained. You should have taken money out right away when they had given the okey.

There must be more to the story, that sounds ridiculous and I have a hard time believing they would do that. However, PayPal is super sketchy, so its possible thats all to the story and if so:
- When calling them, ask to speak to a supervisor and see how high up the chain you can get, until you talk to someone who can hopefully fix the issue.
- Threaten a supervisor with a lawsuit
- Google paypal executive email addresses, hope one reads it and looks into your case (not likely)
- Contact the BBB and give them all of this information and hope they get it resolved

I'd say all of these are unlikely to fix your issue, considering (if the story is true) someone got the money back and likely withdrew or purchased something with the funds.

have you ever tried payoneer or bitcoin?

first of all let me thank you for your advise , and second of all (if the story is true )are u serious with that?

am not actually satisied with bitcoin as they require u to sell and as i can guess it can take a while ,my last alternative is 2ckeckout something i have other payment on the list like stripe etc i hav no idea as this days its really hard to trust reviews on google as companies purchase fake reviews all over the net

PayPal never takes your money unless there is an action from a second party (the buyer - chargeback claim for example) or third party (police, investigators, credit card issuer, etc). So be sure someone did something against you, but believe me and I know this for sure- It was not started by PayPal...

Paypal has no big competitors and this is the problem, the buyers are overprotected. Also the seller has no choice since everyone still uses paypal, i wonder when this will change.

I wish you luck with getting your money back. This makes me pretty pissed at Paypal for doing such a thing. When I get money in my Paypal (one of these days), I will withdraw super quick lol

the office responsible for his case is not in america. bbb has no effect. there is no need to ask an agent to "speak to a supervisor" since they are already sitting besides each other... a more tactical method would be to scan linkedin for the team lead's name, and then when on the phone with an agent mention "i spoke to [ name ] earlier but got disconnected! could i speak to him again please?" make that sound legitimate and he will connect you to that lead. there, you can explain your story.

dispute team leads are only allowed to hang up a call two times per month, so you have a good chance of getting your story through

That is a very sad story that has left wondering what to do. Am also a very active user of pay pal having no other means of transacting money but I have not of a case like yours. most likely it s the person who sent the money complained and reversed the money. most con men and women do that in my country through the local mobile money transfer something. They pay you through the phone later on they reverse/ I wish you all luck to get your hard earned cash back

Not to bring you down or anything but if you were selling legal goods paypal would never do such a thing.

My account got limited after I started receiving quite a lot of money (~5k a month) but it was all resolved after I provided necessary documents(passport, proof of address, VAT etc)

then they reversed the money from his account to the account that send him the money basically they are telling him to stay out of it now he cant do a thing about it and his account is limited permanently as well and the money is gone just like that i dont get it and i dont know what to do.

It's probably fraud.

If they sent it back to him, then took it from him and sent it back to whoever gave him the money, it's fraud. It doesn't make sense to reverse something and send it through a chain of people like that, unless someone did something extremely illegal. The source of that $4500 was probably a stolen credit card or bank account. Not really much you can do there.

All though this is relevant in most cases, it is not strictly true.

These days I only use PayPal to pay people, I would not keep a penny in a PayPal account.

If I had some money paid into my PayPal account, they would freeze my account. You see PayPal know I am banned, but have no issues letting me use them for paying other people.

I see sellers here on BHW and elsewhere selling via Paypal 24x7 and everything works. There must be more to this story that maybe OP doesn't know.
