Hey guys.
recently sold something to this person.
He received it and all is happy.
Now he has emailed me saying that he is not happy and wants to open a dispute.
If this happens can i remove my details so paypal cannot do anything?
i have a bank/card and address verified.

Short answer: No

PayPal has the tendency to side with the buyer instead of the seller as well, which is bullsh*t sometimes.

if i remove my details before he opens a dispute am i safe?

Probably, if you could close the account quick enough.
i just took off all my details.
so it means now that if they do open a dispute and i end up owing paypal nothing can happen?

Make sure you released your credit card, cause if they open a dispute paypal has to hold money if you dont have that amount in your paypal account, they directly take out from your bank balance. I have been already in this situation, trust me the feeling is not awesome.

hey thanks.
everything is removed, my card, bank and address.
phone number is changed.
account is still verified though. but just thinking can paypal still get me?

It's not as simple as this. If paypal feels like you owe them money and you have a verified address, they will hire debt collectors... And they will have what they want trust me.

even after ive removed the address and changed it with another one?

This just makes you look guilty, they still have all of your informations stored.

If they want to get you they will, cause they have all your records, no matter if you dropped the line, i guess they had more than we can imagine situations like that. You can run but you cant hide.

Thats absolutely true, but i bet there are money amount when they use debt collectors, lets say if 20$ are missing, they are not going to start an investigate to collect that, thats my opinion. Not sure what reality is. As i sorted my problem in the good way.

how did you fix your problem?

they are allowed to do that?
You said the guy was happy with what you provided, if you still have email proving this i don't think he will win the dispute even if he starts it.
I'm not sure though.

proof of delivery is crucial, and ideally should have the buyer's paypal listed dispatch address on there. Some couriers can send you POD with signature and delivery address, consignment note etc all together by email.
I doubt removing details will prevent paypal from charging. Most likely it will result in a negative balance and some kind of summons i reckon

as somebody said before you must cancel the account before the dispute is opened.
but what kind of stuff you sold him, I understand if is not a solid material will not be problem, intangible stuff is not part of the
guarantee. that is what I know.
after all if you probe that you provide all what you offer everything will be fine.
that is my oppinion

How is your account still verified after removing all of your financial information??
