Hey BHW,

Im now into Paypal as a seller, and it has come to mind, how much time does a buyer has to ask for a refund? (I think its somewhere between 45-60 days)

But what if, let's say they have 60 days for refund, and the buyer ask for refund on the 70th day. Should I grant the refund, or tell him/her to fck off?

Your thoughts?

you can give them refund within 60 days, after that, the refund option button will not be appeared on the transaction record, also paypal's policy is that buyer can dispute the transaction within 45 days, after that, paypal will not do anything about it.hope this help

I see.

Would you refund a bitchy buyer if more than 60 days have passed? (The buyer continually send you emails and sh*t)

if I were you I will not refund him , what are you selling roy?

^ In that case, I wouldn`t refund. I`m pretty sure 60 days was more than enough time for the buyer to ask for refund. Don't do it. That's what I say.

Ok then man, I will do that.

But, how would you manage the bs emails?

If I were you I would just refund the money as it is digital product. Just move on, I don't want buyer does not satisfied with the product.

Unless it is services like SEO or any other service, I'll not refund after 60 Days.

Just my 2 cents.

No, it was not SEO, backlinks, nor anything related with IM at all.

I would even dare to say that 60 days is WAAY TOOO MUCH for this product.

If buyer asks again for refund I will just ignore the message.

I think it really returns to you again.
If your customer really have a problem in 70th day, not just a faked problem, you would be better if you refund him.
Remember, a dissatisfied customer will be very noisy and will give a lot of negative image towards your service. Over-service, is also seen very positively, and the customer will more likely spread positive news if you do that. Customers who got regular service usually also give positive news to their peers, but customer who got extra service will be far more likely to spread the good news.

Not answering his message is a bad thing for business too.
Prepare a template for answering complaints, and outlining this person's problem and steps to resolve it (if there is one) then send it.
Not answering is usually treated with escalation of conflict from the other side.

It totally depends on you and your business. But just consider the negative outcomes in your mind, He could leave a neg feedback that can cause your repo. Talking about his emails etc, Replace yourself with him and think what would you have done if someone has taken your money for no reason.

This is why you should have terms and conditions attached to your sales, outlining your refund policy.

Yes, but sometimes it also related to service. Take a look at the customer's rant at newspapers or at magazines.
Only about 10-15% of them actually have bad experience with the banks or with the company.
Some of them are wrong, yet they cause big negative impact on the company.

I will soon be setting up the paypal buy button on my site. However, I have some doubts. What information will the buyers get about my paypal account if they make a purchase using the buy button? And can I get any of their information so that I can contact them in future, like a mail id, name or something such?
Also, I saw a person receiving payments on forums just by putting a link to a paypal page. Seemed to me like an invoice page. But I think invoices have to be sent using mail id's right, or can someone make a payment using a link to the invoice?

I know I am sounding completely confused, which I am indeed! Will appreciate a lot if someone can answer these questions.

Thanks.

Samw way you mange with spam email. Delete it and ignore it.
Both parties were clearly aware of the rules BEFORE the transaction was made. On top of that the buyer had adequate if not more than enough time to ask for refund. It sounds like a guy who wanted to use your product for free for 60 days and then get his money back. Those kind of people are idiots.
Once again, the emails, delete them, ignore them.
Faf,
P.S. update me on what you did :)
