So I have had the same paypal for many years maybe 13-14 years but i think it was 2017 or 2018 i was getting a message i reached a threshold where i need to upload documents, I was too lazy to do it and also the fact I didnt like having to put my personal info on the internet so I ended up using wife's paypal but now recent changes with a company i work through they need to match the names.

My old paypal account still works and still have a balance on there, also the message has disappeared about needing to upload documents. I am wondering though once i start getting funds paid to there again I will probably get that threshold message again I am assuming?

Maybe, maybe not. But there's nothing to lose with verifying your account.

Yeah I will probably verify it anyway, only problem is my freelance name differs slightly then on paypal since the freelance site made this change a lot of people having issues with names matching not to mention mine is in a foreign language.

Every PP account have the threshold (depends on which country), so when you start receiving funds again on that account, you will again be asked to provide the identity verification documents.

It also depends on the country you live in. In my case I uploaded the id and they removed the threshold but they set a 30 day hold period for any money I recieve from individuals.
