Paypal Query

Hi,

My Paypal account has been banned permanently so I got my brother to open one in his name for me to use. He has entered his credit card details but to verify the account I need to add a bank account. Would I be able to add my own bank account (a new one, not the one I used on my old Paypal account)? My address (and first name obviously) is different to my brothers. I would prefer not to use a bank account in his name as his last business went bust and I don't want the HMRC (tax people) thinking he is trying to make money on the side. Would Paypal ask to see a bank statement at any stage (which would show my name/address)?

On a sidenote I plan to start a few sites that offer services, would I be better off using Moneybookers (Skrill or another payment gateway) to accept payments and Paypal to pay suppliers? I don't really trust Paypal anymore. Thanks to everyone in advance!

If you want to open a paypal account on the name of your brother
you can do its not a problem.
But the name of your brother should match with the bank account
or else you cannot withdraw the money.

Would I be risking it if I did a joint account with him? What if I only used this account to pay suppliers and not take payments myself?

You aren't right.

You can withdraw money to any bank account ( just make sure account isnt linked to other paypal acc. ) ( I'm talking about UK and USA accounts. )

It's always a good idea to have other backup payment options... PayPal is not the most reliable unfortunately. They terminate and freeze accounts all the time nowadays it seems

Get a Green Dot card and use that as your bank account to withdraw to.

Works for my five PP accounts.

I smell federal offence here

I wouldn't recommend any withdrawal types like Green Dot prepaid card. Just get a real bank account, create savings accounts, and you are going be safe.

Prepaid cards not always like payments to OTHER NAMED PEOPLE THAN THEY HAVE ON RECORDS, thats why you can have problems. + I've heard to that many GD accounts been 'limited' ( Added small withdrawal/deposit limits when payments started rolling in from stealth account.)

And, if you do have 5 pp accounts and 5 prepaid cards ( am i correct? If not, sorry, my friends was using GD so im not quite sure. )

But if you do have on any names, fake ssn and etc, you face federal offence as a id theft, too big risk for stealth account in my opinion!
