PayPal now what

    Sold a guy some aquarium stuff he had it for almost 3 weeks. Next thing i now he files a PayPal dispute not as described. I look it says it was damaged in shipping. I said you waited 3 weeks to file wouldn't he have seen it when you opened it and not 3 weeks later. Since it was a 22 inch piece of plastic. No response sent pictures and all that stuff I showed how it was shipped and all intact. Well they fine in his favor tell him he has to send it back my account goes $155 negative. So what happens now do they take the money from my checking account? Help appreciated never went threw this. I'm thinking he broke it some how and now is using the famous PayPal escape clause. Thanks

    I assume you sold it privately? I would get in touch with PP either way!! why: it shows that you are confident in first place. explain the story just like you did here. But I really doubt that PP will get in between at all, they will most likely tell him: get a lawyer etc... and after 3 weeks you know what he can do best anyway with it ,-))

    This type of crap happens all the time, Its horrible but shit happens. I would work on getting this thing sold again fast so you can recoup your negative loss.

    What lesson did you learn? It cost you 155 dollar to learn it so make sure its a valuable lesson!

    Yes through forums I sold it. Actually it was decided today and in his favor they said he has to send it back. So im asking what happens to my acount since now it is negative will they take the money from my bank account? I just cant wait to see whats in the returned box.

    1. Send all such proofs to paypal. Post chat records after he recieved to paypal
    2. Call up paypal explain it.
    3. If they delay call them again.

    Most probably 95% chances you will win.

    They likely won't do anything other than send you threatening letters, or potentially try to slap something on your credit report. Unless they have your explicit permission, they can't charge your card, or debit your account.

    Okay let me break this down too you

    1. If this is your legit PayPal Account then PayPal will first try to take the money from your Bank Account.
    2. If they cannot successfully get the money from your bank account they will target your credit card attached.

    You cannot remove these once your PayPal is in the negative! (Sucks I know)

    So now you need to contact your bank and put a stop hold on any money going to PayPal from that account.
    Or better yet close the bank account and open a new checking account with your bank.

    You can do the same thing with your CC attached to PayPal.

    If this PayPal account is not in your name or the bank is a VBA then drop the account and walk away.
    Always ship with tracking ( I am assuming you did)
    And for larger items like this only ship with signed delivery.

    Since they have to sign it means they accept the goods in the package and PayPal honors that.

    Sorry but your a victim of buyer fraud because he would not wait 3 damn weeks if it was broke.

    You should contact paypal for this. I recently paid someone for adwords services via paypal($300) and in 3 days that guy didn't responded at all after a lot of emails and phone calls. I always thought i have the power to get my money back and the moment i dispted the charge, Paypal ruled in his side. He won. I was like F***. So my brother, go on and contact paypal, call them and mail them the proof which you got. I hope and pray you get what you deserve.
    Maybe that prick just needed the stuff for like 3 weeks and after he used it, he is sending it back!
    The world is filled with such people.

    The best thing to do now is to learn from your mistake. Never ship any items that are not a hundred percent validated. Also, see to it that you and your supposedly client understand each other. Ask if there are any questions or anything unclear about the transaction.

    call paypal and explain everything in detail hope you can claim the decision but first withdraw balance from bank

    in the past years, ive had hundreds (even thousands) frozen by PayPal due to disputes and usually they almost allways take the buyer's side. From my experience, once they file a claim like that, PayPal freezes your funds (only in PayPal though, not your bank) until they resolve the issue between the 2 of you. In 99% cases, they go in facor of buyer :*( sorry to break the bad news dude but sometiems even us legit sellers try to cover all our bases and still get screwed due to ebay/paypal's way of handling things; hope this helped...

    That doesn't help. They'll just say to file a police complaint in the local police station.

    It isn't worth the hassles for $155.

    Once paypal gives the go ahead for the chargeback it is settled and you cannot change their minds by talking
    to an idiot on the phone and trying to make sense with those people. Try to resell it to fix your balance.

    Lets see where do i begin. Got this back missing pump/parts, Shipped out in 3 pieces came back in 7 pieces with it trying to be glued back together sanded a mess. Called paypal sent a video of it being opened it at the post office with the postman opening the package and guess what? They decided in his favor. Ive been hitting the dispute button every time they Deni it. last email from them they offered 55.00 credit to me and i asked them what about the pump/ missing parts the glue how he had it almost 4 weeks. No answer as of yet. So Phuck them. Done with paypal. As to all that said resell it cant it in pieces missing parts.

    Forgot to add I asked them if I go and buy a car on fleabay and i smash it into a poll within the 45 days can i get my money back. Something to think about :)
