hey guys,

im relatively new to the forums, so please bear with me.

i recently sold a computer on eBay, and I shipped it and everything went well.

but about 3 days after he got it, he said it wasn't working so he used PayPal and did a dispute. long story short, he won the dispute BUT I had already spent the money.

now I'm down 1000$ in PAyPal.

i have 2 PayPal accounts, one for stuff with eBay and another one for my personal transactions. the one with eBay has a fake address, no bank or credit card linked to it, but my real name.

now usually, I wouldn't even bother because I have no info connected to the PayPal, but recently, they found out about my other account, which has my bank account, credit card, and everything attached to it.

they emailed me saying in 14 days they'd charge money off my linked credit cards in my personal paypal

now here's the question: what do I do?

i heard PayPal doesn't really do anything but threatens you a lot of stuff. will they really charge me?

any help would be appreciated

thanks

Search the forum, been discussed 100's of times.
Every story told sounds like BS.

just dump the account but you are doing a scam remember that!

i've got all my paypal accounts banned for no reason. they are just a bunch of idiots

You owe them money, they will get it one way or another.

The only thing you can do is close all the accounts associated with your real bank account. Otherwise they could charge them to get their money. The same way a bank can transfer money from one account that has a balance to another account that is overdrawn even if you are just a cosigner. Yes, sometimes PayPal doesn't follow through but they seem to be getting more proficient and collecting debts.

And if the cosigner defaults, they will take it from the signer. Had that happen to me at my bank. My mom cosigned for a bank account when I was 16. I was 25 and my mom went under by $500. One day, I wake up and I'm $500 poorer. I was pretty pissed. The bank then tells me that my mom stole the money from me. lol Sad part about it is that I don't exactly know if she didn't.

Anyway, they will get their money.

alright thanks for the info, and I'm going to pay back the negative balance by selling some stuff

but for some reason I cannot receive any money into the sccount, it says something along the lines of this recipient cannot receive any money at this time.

ive tried to pay using both as a gift and goods and services: both don't work

usually does this happen?

thanks for all the help
