    I've read this page:
    https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/ua/upcoming-policies-full

And it seems they are raising their fees to 3.9% + flat fee (which is 0.25 I think). I guess the reason is because of the split with eBay.

But it's still surprising considering how many competitors there are and yet they can still allow themselves to raise the fees.

It is because of users like us that allow them to raise fees. Apart from helping to receive payment, I do not see why Paypal deserves these fees. They are not a value adding entity in my point of view apart from helping to collect payment from clients. And to make it worse, they can block our access to our funding if a buyer files complaint.

And it includes also from my understanding account with more than $10k monthly sales.
They've just equalized the 2checkout fees.

These rates are very high. It just keeps costing more and more to do business online. Oh well, they are still the easiest way to get money for me at this time.

paypal is the easiest way to accept and transfer funds online, you can create an account in second and accept money, or transfer money to someone without an account. It has really alot of customers compared to its competitor. And even it raises fee people wont stop using it.
may be with the increase in fee their service will get better.

Just raise your own prices slightly and keep paypal, it can get you way more customers than not having it.

This is the result of their separation from eBay, with PayPal raising their fees, the pressure of earning more would be one of the option or we can of course switch to Payoneer, Skrill, etc.

I have accounts on Payoneer, Skrill & others & I will surely use them before PP if there's a choice.
PP is probably most known online so, the popularity lets them dictate the fees. Oh well.

They do it because they can, and because they know we won't drop them anytime soon. Fiverr did the same thing.

I wish someone end PayPal dominance. On top of this, the Forex conversion rate charged by them are no way near the actuals. They charge a 10% premium on conversion when receiving payments but while withdrawing they show the conversion rate as 10% lower than the market value. Daylight robbery and just full of greed.

They are actually pretty low when compared to payment processors. Some of those charge well over 10% if you don't have a very large amount of volume.

Another good reason to use other providers and gives competitors a chance to gain some ground. I will use Skrill and Neteller even more once these changes come into effect.

Hopefully Stripe and all those other debit/CC processors won't raise their fees to this amount.
