You don't even need that, there are so many other ways to get you money from them.
I'm for using an alternative, but the problem I face - you find that everyone these days are using Paypal, so switching will kind of limit your earning potential.
I really hope that Google check out or some other payment processor can really give Paypal stiff competition.

i don't agree with you on that, there are some payment processors that DO accept paypal as a payment method along with all major credit cards, so your earning potential doesn't have to drop, it will drop only if you let it
by the way if you use google checkout and ebay finds out, guess what
you just got banned, been there done that
google checkout and paypal are neck in neck in competition, so ofcourse paypal would want to make every possible cent through ebay.
by the way google checkout places a $500 limit just like paypal when you open up a account, you will need to verify the account just like paypal, and if you want to earn real money they will ask you for your ssn because of all that cash flow.
but if i had to choose id ofcourse go with googlecheckout, so much better then paypal.
the down side to not using paypal
-anything other then paypal on ebay is frowned upon by buyers because paypal always favors the buyer in any situation, unless you have 100% proof youv'e been scammed.
-using a payment processor
- on most of them you get payed ONLY on the 15th and 30th of each month
which is NO PROBLEM as long as i GET MY MONEY AND ITS SAFE.
