Paypal hold

Hello, I heard that some dropshipper have 90 day hold so they have to pay for products and shipping from their own money. I'm scared to start dropshipping because of this. Is that hold normal?

If you do not have an established PP account then they will hold your funds for 21 days and during that time you would have to pay out of pocket to ship your items from your supplier to your customer. After a certain number of successful transactions you won't have that restriction anymore as long as you keep your account in good standing.

I don't have any hold now, so I guess I will not have even when I start dropshipping?
Also will my future customer would be to refund even when they receive product?
 
Agree , and you can as i did ,phone ebay and explain what you intend to do ,and in my case was offered a heigher selling balance on items allowed to sell ...

If you keep all the companys with updatted info and your paying tax ,you get help they dont mind helping ....


Also the best part is ,if there compliants about arival time and giving back items, becomes you been honest and everythink is documented as it is ,your account never get locked ever ....

I also advice paypal aswell of my drop shop adventure, and they also was willing to help ,and was told ,becouse of my honest aproarch there be no holdings or bans.

Love them companys both, so any disputes i have ever had me paypal and ebay all sort it all out without any account problams ever....

Both business, got no problams ,with drop shop what so ever ...

The best aproch is to be honest ,and make sure every advert you do ,has full explanation about times , and payment ,and return policy ,and any other stuff to legally save your arse in a dispute..

So you dropship from ebay? I thought about aliexpress but I don't like it because they don't accept paypal as a payment method.
 
The 21 day hold is a pain in the ass, but its something everyone has dealt with at some point. Not sure, but maybe payoneer doesnt have the same type of hold? They do have higher fees though.

Sounds like you would be okay to start but IMO Paypal can be fickle so be sure that you are following the rules in order to keep your account in good shape.
As far as your second question are you asking if people could request a refund even if they receive the product? If so the answer is two fold -
1) If the customer pays by Paypal they can always raise a dispute but if you have evidence of shipping and receipt you should be okay.. just the usual process of having to handle a dispute
2) If customers ask for refunds without involving Paypal. I would say that you should have a refund policy articulated on your site/listing. If you choose to deviate from that policy based on the individual situation then that is totally up to you but you would have the ability to refund customers just as you would in any venture. If your price point is low enough and your margin high enough you will probably find yourself refunding a customer here & there without executing the full return process just to keep a customer happy. If you find yourself doing it too often, have too many disputes or too much time dedicated to dealing with unhappy customers it is time to consider a new product or supplier.

You seem to like Paypal but I feel the opposite about them. I think they keep their sellers over a barrel and are too quick to take and hold money for inordinate amounts of time. Stripe technically does not allow dropshipping but Shopify keeps pushing the drop ship model hard so many people are jumping on board without considering that angle. It may never become an issue or it may .. who knows.

Then what is the best payment method for my dropshipping site?

I think most people are sourcing from Aliexpress, Alibaba, or a dropshipping company. There is some element of dropshipping between Amazon, eBay etc.. but I think you would have to do a lot of product research because the prices are often higher than Aliexpress and the like when they get to those platforms. You are banking on the idea that people won't be price comparing and they feel that the price you are selling at is reasonable in their mind because they don't know they can get it for 1/3 of the price on Aliexpress.

The problem is that I can't pay with paypal on aliexpress...
 
I hate paypal with a passion, if i didnt have to use it for eBay, i'd never use them again in my life.

What is your platform for selling going to be? A shopify storefront? A wordpress site with a woocommerce (or another plugin)? eBay? I think that answer will somewhat dictate what is available to you.

I personally believe that is going to be a limiting factor for you in terms of finding the lowest prices. Perhaps there is a dropshipper that accepts Paypal? I don't know about that for sure though. I would love for someone to come on here and tell me that I am incorrect about it being a limiter for you.

So the best bet is to just withdraw money from paypal to CC and then buy from reputable Ali sellers. That way I will not have to think about refunds and shit that can occur by paypal?

Woocommerce has a bunch of payment gateways available (depending on what country you are in) so you should be okay from that perspective and not bound to Stripe or PP. So you are good from that angle, your ongoing issue is that you want to pay with Paypal for the items... what about the Paypal debit card? Can you get that and use that to pay on Aliexpress (or similar website)?

I think this or the PP debit card are your best bet... although the ordering process should be simple if you are buying and selling out of the same PP account and something goes wrong you have just bunched yourself all up from both ends. It would reduce risk a bit.
