PayPal help!!!

Hi:

I recently was emailed the PayPal $20,000 IRS thing and I do not want to provide my social or tax ID. The eBay associated is a Top-Rated seller and has great selling limits. Is there any way to create a new PayPal and safely attach it to the eBay? I want to just let the old PayPal sit there and move on.

I have worries that eventually they'll limit the PayPal and any new PayPal I attach to eBay will also be limited then. Any advice with regards to this? Tips? Anything would be great.

First, it's not 'your' SSN or Tax ID, that's a number the government assigns, meaning it's their number. Next, understand you have to realize your IM activity is presumed by the IRS to be subject to the US tax gestapo (whether is actually is or not), so you have to PLAN to resist this if you are going to not divulge, and be aware of these things ahead of time. If you're not subject to the tax, you're not 'evading' it by sticking to your financial privacy rights, but if that's your story, you've got to stick to it, by not giving in to the ID number demands.

As the path of least resistance, your actions should remain either unassociated with the slave number, or should remain under the financial limits that trigger the information reports, or disclosures you are now being asked to provide. One other contingency you have to plan for is walkaway power, as in walking away from a top rated eBay account or Paypal account if it gets to this point.

I'm not giving tax advice, just saying as a tax honesty guy that in the same situation, I might walk away from this account if I don't want to link it to a tax ID, and then plan similar activity more carefully in future accounts I may create. I don't think a new Paypal will change anything in this situation if it's linked to the same eBay. I might conduct activity across several accounts that stay below the threshold from here on out. Or just replace ebay/Paypal with a less IRS snitchy arrangement that does not demand you be treated by default as a tax slave.

Well, supposedly the IRS thing is new rules with PayPal. It doesn't go off of eBay sales or such. They say if you 20k or around there, moves in a PayPal, they request your Tax ID so they can send you the 1099, im sure. The PayPal is a stealth (somewhat), so I don't think its that big of a deal. Its happened to other PayPal's of mine and I just avoid providing the Tax id and move on. But I do not want to lose this eBay connected to this PayPal, thats my point.

So the question still is: can I detach this PayPal from an eBay account safely and attach a newly created PayPal without it being hit or limited.

The only way to have a second PayPal account is if its a stealth account (not in your name)
And then when you attach that to your eBay account (in your name) your just going to limit
your eBay account and cause a mess of problems.
