    Hi,

I have been working with a client for a few months and has always been fine. He now decides he is unsatisfied and has went and disputed all payments within 45 days. I did work for him every month and did not provide a guarantee. Can these paypal disputes end in him getting the money back? I have been working hard on his campaigns and would be pissed if this happened.

I just hate this type of issues when clients don't give payments at the end that's why i love bhw BST section. You can set a dispute, then just pray and hope that the dispute will be in your favour.

It depends on how you have the payments setup in Paypal. If you have them setup as a physical product then yes, it can be disputed. If you have it set up as a digital product or service, then it can't be done. Same thing with recurring subscriptions through Paypal, they can be cancelled but not disputed. There is one exception to this rule, if his Paypal account is tied to a credit card instead of a bank account and he disputes the charges through his credit card, things can get a bit sticky. Paypal will usually put a hold on the funds until the dispute clears which can take a while but you will still win in the end IF you setup the payment correctly from the beginning.

That sucks. All you can do is collect all possible proofs where you mention that you don't offer any guarantee and you did what you offered and what he paid for. I guess this may help you win the dispute

You can always threaten with Neg SEO if he refuses to pay for no reason.

Like everyone said above, PayPal will resolve it in your favor if it was a digital service. However, if he used a credit card and not bank transfer he can go to his credit card next and issue a chargeback. Resolve with client, agree to part ways after.

hey i had a chargeback for a credit card a few weeks back it was a digital item (twitter followers)so i had no proof of postage, i took screen shots of all the email conversation i had with the guy and at first they give him his money back, then i got a message from paypal saying they trying to get my money back it will take up to 75 days, anyway 3 weeks later i got the money and charges back, so this is the first digtal item case i have won, if you have any communication with the guy then send paypal screenshots it really does help

Just escalate it. It is a digital product. You should get the money back. If he does a chargeback you are screwed though. I have had a couple guys do this to me through the years. I don't take it lightly, and make sure they understand that they paid for services rendered. Sometimes though it is just best to move on. All just part of doing business online. You are always going to a small percentage of douchebags.

    Good news,

I called PayPal right away and they closed the disputes right away because they only deal with tangible goods. In the process, the client started amending the choice by PayPal and she said within 24 hours PayPal will deny their appeal still. Feels good to win. And for the reference, I provided a quality service to the client. Not my fault they expect page 1 rankings in a couple months for tough keywords for each possible keyword haha. Thanks for the support BHW!
