Yesterday I got an email from Paypal to confirm my identity. A piece of the email says:

"You're about to reach your account balance limit. Please provide more information to confirm your identity. Just click the button below to provide the required documents."

I provided them with my passport photo to verify identity, and an internet bill to verify address. Today I got an email from them requesting additional information about the address verification.

See for yourself:

When I go to my Paypal I see a Green checkmark next to "Proof of Identity," so I think I'm good on that one.

As far as the address goes. I'm planning to go to my bank and get them to issue me a statement or something. My question is, do I really have to find a registered translator to translate and stamp the document and then I send that document to Paypal? Any people from the Balkans, or a country where documents are not issued in English, what did you send them?

Thanks

No you dont need to do that. I never had to translate any document when I sent PP the address proof. Usually phone bill works okay.

Really wierd that they would ask you this.

i suggest you go your bank and take statement in english language .... due to they don't accept Serbia language...
and another things ... is your passport is english written??? or it print by english language??

Yeah I don't know, I was expecting it to work. I'll try a bank statement next.

That's what I'm going to try to do today. If the bank can issue it in English it's awesome. If not I'll get it in Serbian and send that to Paypal. If they don't accept it then I guess I'll have to look for a licensed translator to translate the document for me and stamp it.

Yes my passport is in Serbian. That's weird because it seems they accepted that, they just didn't accept the proof of address document.

What a hassle man

I'm going to the bank in an hour to see if they can issue a statement in English. I don't want to buy a bank statement, I'm not doing anything shady here. This is my real Paypal account in my real name and everything.

ok... bro try your bank... i am sure they will provide statement in english

Never had such a problem, from Serbia also. And i don't really think that any bank will issue a statement in english. I had experience with verification on cryptocurrency exchangers and others, they will accept any bill like for electricity, water i guess, it just need to be printed with latin letters.

The photo I sent them was of an internet bill (Posta Net) but it's not printed in latin letters, it's the other ones (kako se kazu, cirilica).

I'll go to the bank in about 30 minutes (lazy pricks open at 8 AM) and get a statement, in English if possible, in Serbian if not, and then send that to Paypal and see what happens.

Pricaj Srpski da te ceo svet razume a :D

In my experience, internet bills never go well, so i avoid them.

Sta mislis?

Since the forum has a rule to speak only in English, let me give this a shot...

What do you think about a bank statement? I'm going to the bank right now to withdraw some money, to change my address (I moved apartments 7 days ago, and I'm renting), and then to ask them for a bank statement. And that's what I'm planning to send to Paypal.

And if they don't accent that, to fuck their mother (lol), then I have to look for a licensed translator or notar or whatever it's called, and then have him translate and stamp it, and then send that to Paypal.

Although I may call Paypal if they don't accept the bank statement, from experience when I call them they always take care of things faster and better.

What do you think?

Won't speak anymore on serbian anymore. Sorry admins. In short, i think they will accept bank statement even if it's not in english.

Brate u banku ja joj kazem bank statement, ona me gleda.

Wierd as f... If it doesn't work this time with the other internet bill, just scan the phone bill that should do it for sure. I submitted one in Slovenian language (few times for newer stealths) and never had any problem what so ever.

I just sent them the other internet bill.

See the thing is, I don't have any other bills in my name. Electricity, water, landline phone, they're all the the name of the person I'm renting the apartment from. And I also don't have a contract where I'm renting, so I can't get that either. And in the bank they're being difficult.

If this doesn't work I'll call Paypal and try to get them to accept what I sent them.

And if that doesn't work, I'll go to the bank and try to get some official bank statement or something or other. Even that could be a problem because on my ID card I'm registered at my grandmom's address in a different city, but I'm living elsewhere. I'm trying to give Paypal my actual current address of residence. On my account in the bank they pull the address from my ID card, but they have as my mailing address something else. Now, any statement the bank issues me, will it have the address from my ID card or the mailing address on it, or both? I don't know, I'll have to see.

If all fails, I guess I'll have to go to my hometown and try to get some statement of residence from the government or something, and give Paypal my grandmom's address as residence.

This is ridiculous

So you don't have a mobile phone on which you get bill to? Wierd only using landline :p I bet if I photoshop Slovenian address proof with just your address (it would get approved) :p PP isn't that strict when it comes to "other EU countries". Not sure why they want this kind of stupid proof from you.

Actually I don't. I have a pre-paid card... 5 of them. Not for any wrong reasons, just to verify twitters and instagrams and stuff like that :p

But all I have are pre-paid cards, which means they're not registered or anything like that.

It is ridiculous mate. They've accepted my VIP phone bill with no questions asked. If everything else fails, you can always change your address in the bank to be the same as the one in your ID, and then reflect that on credit card/paypal. I am almost certain that Banka Intesa can keep two addresses - one as an official address, and the second one for mailing.

Just get one bill from the app owner and edit the info in photoshop :) probably easier to do then drive around, ask for statement (getting mad in the meantime because just ppl working in support) :P

Yall know what I just realized. My place of residence (prebivaliste) is noted right there in my passport next to my picture. It's my grandmom's address, not the one I'm actually residing at.

If Paypal doesn't accept the internet bill I just sent them, I'll just change my address on Paypal and send them the same photo of my passport which they accepted for proof of identity. And that will be that. Government issued document motherfuckers.

Of course, then Paypal will have the wrong address actually. My grandma died a few months ago, now my cousin lives there. I live in a completely different city. But if Paypal wants to be anal about this they'll get the wrong-ish info.
