    Hi,
Today i received an email from PP saying that a buyer claims that this purchase was made without authorization to use
the credit card. I sold a website for him for only $60 and i pushed the domain name and everything.
2 months later, i received this notice.i sent them the emails and the whois info from me before and him after with his name and email.

My Question is : why the chargeback is stating 213 EUR and not $60 ? and how much i have to refund him back in case if i want to close this case ?
    Screenshot of PP : http://postimage.org/image/brv9qif6x/

    Thank you

i think you will have to refund him the full 213 its the original charge of purchase ($60)plus the bank/credit card fee of the company your customer uses, ive had a few and ive never won digital product case, because they just want proof of snail mail delivery :(

This is very interesting and I don't understand this at all. I've been receiving tons of payments daily for years now and have run into my fair share of CC disputes, but I've never been held accountable for more than the original transaction and I'm having a hard time figuring out how or why that would happen. Your best bet is going to be calling customer support to have them resolve the issue, because this is not something we can fix and I doubt anyone is going to have an explanation for this one.

May have been an error by the person who did the dispute on your account. Not sure, just call support.

He won't win this. It's virtual goods. Provide WHOIS info if possible to paypal. I still, don't think he can win as long as it's virtual goods.

I totally agree. There is no way you have to pay back more than the price he paid. Call support and see what's up! :)

I hope you will take your money back asap , and this is a new way of scamming ... people bought sites or views or logos ...etc and after that they made chargeback!

Unfortunately they buyer wins this case every single time. When they dispute through their Credit Card company, then the credit card company doesn't pay paypal, paypal then not only disputes this transaction on your account and takes the money, but also charges you $20 each time someone disputes it through their CC which they say is a charged charge, since they are charged $100 by the CC company for the dispute. I think that's BS and always call and argue until they refund me that.

When there's a straight up dispute through PayPal, you always win those for virtual goods, but with the CC, the only thing you can do is argue it and sometimes paypal will argue with the CC depending on your proof, but most of the time you just lose it. It's gotten to a point with me that I just accept liability so I don't waste time, since I know I can never win these, then I call and get the additional $20 they took out reimbursed.

    Fight it.

I win this kind of stuff all of the time. There are steps you can do ahead of every sale to protect yourself but you are past that.

What you need to do is create a recorde of ever email, conversation etc, and show (prove) that you passed the account to the new person. They made the mistake of stating that they didn't actually make the purchase, if you can prove they were aware and that they got the product, done deal.

This is your best answer, the only thing wrong with this is that. Paypal will never really argue with the Credit Card issuer because they will have to provide proof of goods even good that's physical shipped directly to you. Literally a person could buy something for u for 5k from ebay in paypal get the goods and it could be the best purchase of your life then file a dispute with there CC company and they will be refunded back the 5k simple as that paypal will do nothing to help you.

This is why for real business and high price services or items you use a merchant account the process is totally different, once a person has paid threw a legit merchant account and gateway such as authorize.net if u file a chargeback and u received the goods, to the credit issuer and your bank this is considered fraud and the buyer will end up in jail if your take the proper steps

Thank you for all your answers. anyone has the PP customer service phone number please ?
What bothers me is the amount is higher than the purchased amount.
Any way to avoid this problem by putting a privacy policy for shipping maybe since the items are digital.

    Thank you
