WTF is the Chargeback Settlement?

A guy buys me a product, and then states that the credit card was stolen by someone (no new story here, so many fuckers did this already).

So, Paypal takes the money from me, and then I have to pay a $10 fee? For what?!



These guys keep stealing people over and over; something should be done against pp

It was a credit card thats why. Because paypal has to pay fees or something on it. I have had this happen to me before. When they side with the buyer you have to basically pay paypals fees they give back to the buyer.

Paypal sucks!

Yup, paid by credit card (and I guess they were unregistered and paid directly with CC details) and you have to foot the chargeback settlement fee, or that is the logic behind it. You can't stop it but a good way to reduce it from happening is take payments from VERIFIED people only. Taking payments from unverified or unregistered is basically playing with fire. It's not just Paypal either before this turns into yet another flame paypal thread. I tried a different payment processor and I 90% of CC payments were fraudulent.

man paypal does bad things..they limit accounts and take money without properly investigating..

I have a guy that got his refund and now, 3 weeks later, is double dipping for a CB on his CC. The question for me is, will paypal take it's own transactions as proof of refund?

Now how can a stolen cc pays via paypal? I thought it have to create a paypal and verify the cc before making any payment.

Yes, paypal sucks... I try to keep a $100 balance and never go over it. I'm currently doing around 20-40 transactions at day and I get at least one of these a day. When I first started I lost 9/10 claims like this. I'm now wining 9/10 and 80% of the time my traffic service wasn't fully completed, so I make even more money. I have no clue why paypal has be siding with me on recent events - but I will takeit while it lasts.

I'm using Click2Sell to accept payments, so I can't really choose which type of payments to accept! =/

One thing do reduce the risk of reversals is to send invoices, choose services for the reasoning & always post VIRTUAL GOODS in the text area which is a place to put instructions for the buyer.

Theres nothing you can do about credit card chargebacks because they almost always win.
