If you request money from a buyer and send the money request as "service" and Not item, what happens if buyer opens a dispute on paypal and escalates it to claim but 2 days later closes it.

Can they then chargeback through the credit card company? Will they be found in favor even though the payment was paid for as a service? After all they have already closed the dispute in paypal and paypal is not letting them re-open a dispute because in paypals eyes the issue is solved.

How does someone even know if they paid with a CC? Won't they be able to proceed with a chargeback immidiatly? Will you be notified through paypal they are trying to reverse the payment back to the CC if so the moment they dispute the payment with their CC?

I would appreciate if someone can explain the process to me. Thank you.

You never know with paypal. It is unlikely you need to worry but with paypal the only guarantee you have is there is no guarantee.

If they indeed paid with a CC and decided to open a dispute with their CC company the next day after they them self close the PP dispute. Will I be notify they are trying to reverse the payment?

In this case If they paid using CC and did a charge back through there CC, yes they will get there money back. Paypal can not stop that. Paypal will just email you saying that its out of there hands and that it is part of the paypal terms of use that if someone charges back through there CC then you will have to deal with it.

Anyone have any feedback on this? Please help..

Thanks but I am in the USA.

If they decided to chargeback yesterday if indeed they paid with a CC woundn't I know by now? In that case I am guessing they did not pay with a CC because I haven't got any email or notifications from paypal.

Any thoughts?

If they filed a chageback with their credit card company, You wont find out until the credit card company contacts paypal. This can take a few days. Credit card companies always side with their client unfortunately.

like jimmy said Don't admit liablity to PayPal

What process will I have to go through? My paypal is limited and they are asking for SSN. No way I'm giving them that. I rather wait 180 days.

But what will happen? Will it show a dispute in the resolution center?
Again I repeat: the buyer disputed and closed the case with paypal.

No idea if he is going to chargeback via CC.
I have no idea what is going to happen. I appreciate all the help you guys are offering.
