Hey,

Got charged back around $600. As I had already withdrawn the funds to my virtual credit card (which was attached to my bank account) - the account is now in negative balance.

Some things to note:

  • The account is under a fake name
  • The VCC is under a fake name
  • European account (Estonian) - so it was verified with the vcc (no bank account attached to it)

The things I'm wondering about now is:
1) Is it common for Paypal to force charge the VCC that was attached to the Paypal account when the account is in negative balance? (although I can remove it from Paypal and suspend it via online bank interface)
2) Is there any chance at all that Paypal might contact the bank?

Many thanks in forward :)

PayPal generally likes to target the bank account that was added to the account. Since if they try to
withdraw money from your credit card you could chargeback on them and they HATE chargebacks and will not
get the money anyway in that case. However that does not mean they will not do it :)

So withdraw the money from your VCC in hard cash and then see what their next move is.
At least this way you have no money to lose.

In many cases they try to recover from VCC, if they failed to recover they simply close the dispute in your favour and limit your account 180 days as far as i know.
