PayPal advice - new account?

So I've a PayPal account and I'm starting to get paid a decent amount of money in to it every day. Great.

Only problem is when I joined PP I wasnt 18 so lied about my date of birth. Now that I'm 18 I want to play it straight. So how do I go about this without getting in trouble?

Should I just close my account and open a new one with my correct info?

If you close it, you cannot use a previous cc for verification. So look for another cc to verify the account. However, you have too many issues going against you. Your account is simply against the law so it has to go. But if you are starting fresh, then use new details especially your cc and address as they will track that. Since you're now 18 I'm assuming you can move.
 
Get a new bank account, apply for a new credit card and verify your new PP account with them. This is the best and safe way.

I've a verified acc that's I'm allowed to receive €2500 per year. I'm getting close to reaching €2500 and there's an option to increase my limit.

However, I'm not sure what happens if I click to increase it :/

I didnt provide any documents, but I used a credit card on it.
 
2 things, increasing your limit is not an issue as it is a standard limit they have to put on for money laundering laws, so when you are very close just click on the increase limit and it will (should) increase automatically

Re a new account with all your correct details yes you should also do this

However you can run both and they should be fine

There comes a time when you HAVE to provide the documents, for every account. If you haven't gotten it yet, you will soon. I suggest you make a new account ASAP and close this one.

So let me get this straight. When I want to increase my limit I simply click on "increase limit" or whatever and that's it? Sounds easy.

Secondly, I know that they will ask for documents eventually. But can I just not respond and let them keep my balance of whatever? When I get money I lodge it in to my bank acc straight away so I don't have much to worry about, right?
 
They only limit your account asking for documents RIGHT AFTER you receive a payment. You won't have the time to withdraw it. You'll have to wait 180 days before you'll be able to withdraw the money.

When I was 17, I lost around $350 this way from Paypal, I then created a account in my dad's name and withdrew it to his bank account. When they asked for documents I simply provided his. I'm still using it when I'm 19 since it's over 3 years old and pretty trusted, and I can just change the first name and withdraw the money to my own bank account.
 
Sorry to hear about that $350 that you lost dude.

Most of my payments around around $100, maybe I'll just risk it and see what happens.

I've had this account since I was around 13 or 14 and I'm now 18 and never got asked for anything, so maybe since I've used it for so long I've a smaller risk of this happening to me.
 
If you dont want to fall in to troubles open a new account and be ready with all the documents, this is what paypal is all about.
 
I'm pretty sure there is a threshold where they ask you for the documents.
Anyway, if you consider making a new account make sure you get a new card and use a different email address.

Just got told that I'm €700 away from reaching my limit so I need to provide them with more info.

I was told that I have 130+ days to reply to them about it, does this mean I can receive €700 more before anything happens?

And what happens if I don't reply to them? Will my account just be banned?

Just send your government Issue ID. They will happily fix it for you. I did lie on my name. But paypal fixed it when I send the Government ID

Wait, but I gave them my wrong date of birth a few years ago,lol.

So if I give them my real details (only lied about my date of birth since I wasn't 18 when I joined but I am now!) they'll be okay with that?

I hope that's true but I'm not so sure

I'm nearly at my limit now and don't know what to do when I reach it :/

I think I might send Paypal a bank statement which doesnt show my age?
