paypal account hacked.

I'm pretty pissed my paypal account got hacked. I notified paypal already but still waiting on account to be restored and money returned.

Word to the wise: don't keep alot of money in your paypal account. If anything above 100$, transfer it to your bank account.

Or, is it better to prevent the account from being hacked? If your credit card is stolen, the same thing happens, if your Alertpay or Moneybookers is hacked, same thing happens.

So, basically we should try keeping things safe. And well, People doesnt keep much money in it because Paypal puts limitation on accounts for something or even nothing.

But, When ever I access my Paypal from another IP and send a payment, A Paypal authority(Usually a Girl) calls me to my number and verify that I sent the money. Doesnt that work for you? :O Or Paypal stopped doing that?

Yup. Well PP was my weak point I suppose. I personally have no credit cards and my credit is frozen. Basically if anyone gets my info and trys to open credit card or do identity theft then everything gets rejected.

Also no one has called me from paypal because I only sell stuff and send money to my bank account from my computer. If I ever buy something its usually an e-check or under 10$.

This is all very well in theory however if you visited a site containing a drive by exploit on an older browser a (I won't call them hackers because using scripts that are available on underground forums is not considered hacking)
thief could download every password in your browser cache and access paypal using your ip as a proxy and take your money before you have even refreshed the page.
You can argue that all you wish with paypal but they will just say it came from your ip and take no responsibility except tell you to file a dispute.

Look man. I been there done that. You have to plan for the worst case scenario bro. Say u account gets hacked, be ready for it. Make sure you have another 2 or 3 atleast ready to go. I know this as I was out alot of money at one point. My comp was keylogged and next thing I know im overdrawn $500 in my bank. Rule #1 NEVER NEVER NEVER FUCKIN EVER attach a real brick and mortar bank to a paypal IF you do any Shady shit. They can and will suck ur account funds dry, and then some. I would reccomend a VirtualBankAccount. Do these really work? Fuck yea or else I would be using them now. Look into ETrade bank too. As for a credit card you dont want to link your real one on there unless your an idiot. Get a VISA GIFT TO GO card, Register it in any name and ur golden.


Or you can just buy one.

Anyways if you are hacked, then do what bust be done, situation will be "bad" for a little while. But Learn from it and make sure it doesnt happen again.

I completely agree to what you said other than what I have made bold in the above Quote.

How can some one use my IP as proxy when I have the exact same IP live? Can a person use exact same IP another one is using at the same time?

I am not that techy I know, But clearing this would add some infos to my brain

Reverse socks5 in fact they can only use your ip as a proxy when you are online.
They would use a UDP protocol which will be undetectable in your services.

Please don't ask me how I know this.
