PayPal 180 day cash withheld

Freeufcdotino,

Sorry to hear you are having trouble with this. Have you tried calling Paypal instead of emailing them? Sometimes you can get further with them on the phone. Others seem to have had success with sending in verification documents in order to lift a limitation on an account. If you are able to withdraw your money, you could also just set up another account to replace the one that was limited.

Here is some more info including how to withdraw funds from a limited account,

Hope that helps,

Shawn

Since paypal limited your account they will hold the funds there locked for 180days.After that period they will give you the option to withdraw the funds. Also during this period they don't allow you to use these funds for any purchase. It sucks i know that how paypal operates even when its so meaningless since 45 days passes and none buyer can dispute there is no "security" reason to hold the funds as they claim it.The true reason is that they earn interest on peoples money when they limit their accounts for 180 days.I hope you will be able to get soon the funds out.Try to call them maybe you can sort this out.

I would start by calling PayPal, as it is easier to ignore an email complaint than it is to ignore phone calls. Set aside a morning for it as they can be a little obstructive initially - but if you have the facts to hand (why they restricted you, why this reason no longer applies, when the restriction began, etc.) and set out your complaint clearly, they may left the restriction as they will feel it's less effort to do so than to keep arguing with you.
