tried to reset my password but no email gets sent to my email, phone number is on it and when I enter my phone number and request password reset I see some random dudes email.

Here’s the weird part, I never received any SMS or email alert about the account having unusual activity on it. I am very confused!

FYI: I have no payment method on the account and it’s a brand new account.

I know I have nothing to worry about, this is just really annoying.

Next time, keep your password really strong and unique.

This is very common and even a basic hacker with some tools can do it so you just need to keep your password very strong and secure.

So I’m guessing I can’t really do anything about and I should just move on since it was a brand new account? I’m not mad just annoyed lol.

If you had no money in it then just forget it,nothing to worry about unless you had some cash kept in.

This is a lesson for you and you were lucky, stay safe from the next time.

Scan your PC

Even though you got nothing to lose, contact payoneer and let them know. Theh will require you submit your ID for verification. Do it if you intend to use payoneer in the future. Otherwise if you make a new account they could suspend it and because they detect you have 2 accounts same name.

Good that you learnt the lesson without any losses. Some people have to downgrade themselves from rich to poor due to such issues.

They have 2 step verification system.
Did you enable that feature?

I unfortunately did not, I made the account and let it sit for months. It’s my fault and I’m very stupid for not enabling 2FA.

You need to talk with customer support.
They will help you recover your account.

You'll probably get it back by contacting support. I would advise you set up 2FA on all platforms that you use for sending/receiving money.

Scan your pc and get rid of any malware/viruses - Likely got keylogger or something similar. Once you know your system is clean, send them an email to reset all that information and let them know what is happening. They will see your account had that previous email and should be able to change it for you.

Next step would be to setup 2FA if possible after to really secure it.

The account was made on a mobile device and was never used on a pc. I guess I’m unlucky and got hacked.

I do use 2FA on everything else, I was just a bit careless when I made the account and forgot about it.

You sure you never used the same email/pass combo ever on a computer? It's not hard for people to try different sites with the same combo in hopes of getting in... (Even if you did make this on your phone, if they got your info from a computer beforehand and you used the same credentials, that's how they got in and is likely the cause in 99% of cases unless they had a breach of information)
