I am going to start a E commerce store. I am going to be selling digital products/services like backlinks.

Which is the best payment processor for me?

I heard something about chargebacks and fraud. Will payment processors protect me against that?

Btw, my PayPal account is limited. Will this affect anything?

Thanks for all of your comments!

I'll just tell you this. Chose a payment processor like Plimus because in 3rd world countries Paypal doesn't work so they can'y buy what you're selling.

The big majority of customers trust Paypal. So if you do not want to miss any sale you have to seriousely consider using Paypal. In orde rto have your account not limited you should provide what paypal asks you. ID proof blabla... if you do not provide you can be 100% sure your money is at risk!
Paypal do not like sellers who sels under their personal name. If you want to use paypal for big amotuns without having trouble with limitation you need business account linked to an Ltd or llc

You can also use Moneybookers, authorize net or 2CO

For me these are the 4 main operators for Western countries.

Regarding Chargeback this is inevitable however for digital products chargebacks are less important than with physical products.
My advise to you would be to put aside 1% of your income to hedge against chargebacks + provide quality products.

I thought 2Co and paypal were used as one?

I have used some BHW sellers and they use 2CO along side paypal?

Okay, little confused.

But I think it is my fault.

So what is the difference between 2CO and PayPal? Or are they both doing the same thing accepting payments?

Which one will help me to protect my self against fraud and stuff like that?

Lets assume I had a business PayPal account, will that protect me against fraud?

2CO accepts payments such as card along with an option for Paypal. This means you don't directly deal with Paypal itself.

Hey Leith,
Thanks for clearing that up.

I use Authorize.net. I used to use PayPal, but their fees are nuts.

Authorize.net is pretty straightforward, and I was able to set it up with a merchant account at my bank, got both for a single fee. I also use ZoHo Invoice for my estimates and invoices, but that tends to be better suited to people handling large transaction amounts in the Offline field and not so much for when you're accepting payments via your website.

Plenty of merchants use 2CheckOut. I haven't tried it, but it may be able to serve your needs as well.

Best,
Red
